I can't believe Cabee is 10 years old! 10 years ago right now at this moment I was packing up my stuff to get ready to drive in to the hospital with my mama. I was feelin' Preeeeeeetty shitty, I gotta say. Nobody ever explains childbirth to people who haven't experienced it, so I didn't really know what was going on. Contractions feel like period cramps. Period cramps that get stronger and stronger and stronger. By the time I went in to the hospital they were pretty painful and lasting quite a while, but no where near as bad as they finally got. We got to the hospital around 4 am and Cabee wasn't born until 1:30 pm. It wasn't a terribly long time in hospital in labour, but I had woken up on January first feeling crappy and crampy for the whole day.
It's strange how much I remember about when Cabee was born. I have a terrible memory for most things, But I remember everything about that.
So today I think we're going to Cora's for brunch, we're going to Toys R' Us so Cabe can spend his birthday money and I'll buy him a present. I already have him 2 books that he wanted. We're going to Montana's for supper so that we can put the moose birthday hat on him (Hahahahah!) and then we're going to the arcade and going to see a movie. Super fun birthday!!!
I'm really hoping I don't have to work all next weekend. We're supposed to be taking down the exhibition, but I don't think that should take too long? It's mostly framed art work, and teh installations are fairly small, and I don't really think they need to be packed up, other than maybe Barb's huge sheet metal dress. I think Tessa and Chris will probably be taking down their installation themselves, so the work shouldn't be too much. I need to work on a drawing next week and next weekend. I really want to submit a piece for the drawing exhibition, it would be cool to put on my CV. I'm working up a good deal of awesome stuff to put on my CV, I've got to say. :)
We went to The Rooms and the exhibitions were awesome. I'm so glad I got to go see everything. When I went downtown I got my stainless steel tunnels, and I got a few other small things, a matryoshka magnet and keychain, a set of plain wooden matryoshka dolls that I can paint myself (coooool!!!!) a beetle piggy bank and a pair of ASTRO BOY EARRINGS!!!! :D Hooray! Totally happy. I also picked up a set of magnetic poetry for my mama. At Chapters I got a book for my mama too. I went to Afterwords and I couldn't beleive it, but I didn't find a single book I wanted. like What the hell? I think I've maxed myself out on books for a while because I have so much at home to read. Hmmm... Tryin to think of what else I bought for myself.... Oh yeah, a goldfish pendant and some leather cord to make a necklace, some cool Lionbrand homespun yarn in rainbow colours to make a hat, and some blue prismacolour leads to replace the ones I've used up. I wish Corner Brook had a Michaels. Its waaaay too expensive to buy most stuff at, like paper and drawing supplies, but it has such nice jewelry findings and craft stuff that I can't get anywhere in Corner Brook.
Ugh... I can't believe school starts again so soon... Not enough of a break!!!
lalala... I think I'm gonna finish watching this show and go to bed. Goodnight woooorld!
