Well, I'm Back
So after not posting since Spring of 2008, I'm back to LJ! Why now? Well, I've got 2 assignments due tomorrow of course!
After their completion, I'll be all caught up since missing a week and a half of college! Yay!
So, some friends and I went to a club last night and I know I shouldn't be, but some of the behaviour was a bit shocking. I mean, people were basically having sex on the dance floor, which I haven't seen since high school. I just can't imagine wanting to do that in public, I mean, its just kinda awkward. I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with "booty dancing" as my mum calls it, but it just isn't quite appropriate for a private venue.
Then again, so much of what is and is not appropriate is being "challenged," which as a hippie I'm all for, but someone has to draw a line somewhere or its Brave New World in action. But then there is the whole issue of who should draw the line, and where is it to be drawn and on and on and on till we're in 1984 territory. Wow, definitely did not mean to get off on my whole idea of the world coming crashing to an end, but here I am. Again.
Lately its seems as though the end of the world may be eminent, and I know that isn't the right view to have, but there are just so many things wrong that the fate of the world almost becomes a question of when and not if.
Estel! That's elvish for hope. We certainly need hope now. But the interesting thing about hope is its dual nature. In the story of Pandora's box, she lets out all the evils into the world and hope is included. Now, can hope be an evil? I think it may, but in general its not.
I really am rambling now, wow.
Ok, so off to finish field notes and a philosophy assignment and then bed! Yay for going to bed. Its good to be back. :)
