What's In A Name?

As most of you know D doesn't call me by my real name; he calls me Ola. His Dad and brother also call me by this pet name which is a short form of my real name.

But interestingly I didn't realise until Mum came to live with me for 4 weeks that she doesn't call me by my real name either! So what does she call me I hear you all ask :D Well, take your pick 'cause there's a few

"Lou"
"Lou-Lou"
"Loulie"
"Loulie-Jane"
"Jane"
"Jane-us"
"Lady"

and last but not least

"Lady Jane"

Funnily enough I hadn't noticed because with thinking I answer to all these names because Mum has been calling me all of them since I was small. It was only when my Ma-In-Law pointed it out that I realised that the only time Mum calls me by my given name is when she is serious or angry (which isn't very often!)

I know Mum wanted my middle name to be Jane, so that accounts for that pet name and she and Granny used to sing "Lou, Lou, skip to my Lou Lou, Lou, skip to my Lou Lou, Lou, skip to my Lou Skip to my Lou, my darlin!" to me when I was a wee thing so I guess Lou comes from that but "Lady" has me baffled because although I'm female I'm certainly no lady! ;)
