Sorry, NBC, but this is NOT a "Chuck Sandwich"

Jan 23, 2008 19:04

I've been hearing NBC's promos for the Thursday night line-up and I'm seriously irritated.

"It's a Chuck sandwich! An all-new episode of Chuck followed by an all-new Celebrity Apprentice followed by another episode of Chuck!"

The analogy falls completely apart. The episodes of Chuck are the bread in the sandwich and the filling is Celebrity Apprentice. I mean, you don't say "I'm eating a rye sandwich!" when you're eating a slice of rye bread, followed by a few slices of pastrami, followed by more rye bread.

Granted, who wants to see an advert for "A Celebrity Apprentice Sandwich"? I mean, gross. (Dude, who even wants to see the show other than my poor, deluded, Donald-adoring husband?)

Argh.

No wonder network TV is so sucky. Even when the writing on the shows is all right, no one in promotions or programming has more than a single brain cell.

grammar, ranting
