We've lost to the hated Giants. 24-17
We always have trouble with the Giants, even when they're having a lousy year.
We played a good first half, an unspeakable third quarter, and a terrible fourth quarter.
In the last seconds, we had the ball at 4th and Goal with a yard (translation for the non-football folks: a yard to go and only one chance to get there). As Sonny said, with true despair in his voice, our quarterback could have run it in himself but didn't. He gave it to Ladell Betts who just couldn't get over the goal-line.
If I were a drinking woman, I'd flat out go get drunk and drown my sorrows. I'm being very careful tonight not to drown my sorrows in high-fat, high-calorie food!
Jeremy and I talked on the phone a few minutes after the game ended. It's good to have someone with a shoulder to cry on -- even if the shoulder is 90 miles away and you're crying over the phone.
Dan is also wallowing in the slough of despond 'cause his Broncos also lost.
And App State lost a game this weekend they *so* should have won.
So, sports-wise, this weekend sucked eggs and blew sauerkraut.
On a better note, Jeremy was promoted to Sergeant First Class (ROTC) on the basis of his performance in training exercises this weekend at Ft. Stewart.
I also called my aunt in Tupelo, intending to talk "a few minutes." Over two hours later, I finally hung up. See, I come by my ability to talk the ears right off your head by genetics!
