I could have used a few more words…
Napoleon stirred his cup of coffee, straightened his inbox, moved his desk calendar an inch to the left, and sharpened three pencils.
His partner wasn’t deceived by the delaying tactics. “Mr Waverly expects our report by five, and he isn’t known for granting extensions.”
“I need to clarify the details in my mind before committing them to paper,” Napoleon said loftily.
“There’s no wording that will obfuscate the detail that the raid was an abysmal failure.”
“That’s not the part I’m working on.”
Illya snorted. “Not even you can make your unplanned swim in an odoriferous duck pond sound dashing.”

*Laughs* Oh, I like it - I hadn't expected that last line. And Illya is quite right.
Very well done.

Thanks. Getting dirty (and wet and smelly) isn’t someone’s favorite part of the job.

True. One does want to choose their words carefully when explaining such things. Good job!

Thank you. And I think IK’s right on this one. Duck ponds tend to smell less than pleasant. 🙂

Nothing dashing about his unplanned swim, lol. Good use of the words.
