Not long after my parents died, I contracted with the Cremation Society for direct cremation and a cheap urn/vault to make the cemetery happy. I have a fully-paid-up funeral insurance policy to cover the contract cost. Dumping my ashes in the river would be cheaper, but Mom's family plot still has one open space and the perpetual care is paid for for as long as the cemetery exists, so I'm going to use that. My great-grandmother paid a whole $1 for those six graves so I'm not going to waste one.
I need to update my Will again. Main issue is that I need to get Moon into a local cat "retirement home" or the like if he outlives me because he does not do well in a cage and is going to be very hard to place since he doesn't like men, children, dogs, strangers, or noise.
My current POAs are an old college friend and my cousin. They both live in other states and they both take foreign vacations several times a year, so I hope one will be available if I need them. I had had a social service agency as my POA, but they decided they will no longer do it.

We're heading to The Big Island for our last resting place. It only seemed fitting for us.
