Well, that stinks...
Yesterday, I called a friend of mine about having dinner together. We had spoken before Thanksgiving and she had begged off because of all the stuff they had going on, both with their family and their church. The husband, D, had just finished treatment for throat cancer and they were looking forward to being able to get out and about.
Two days after I spoke with B, her husband broke his foot. They were taking a short walk and D collapsed, breaking his foot as a result. That was the week before Thanksgiving, he was is the hospital for a week and then home. He was just graduate to a cane and is about to start testing for his heart, which they think is what caused his collapse.
D is one of the kindest, most giving men who I know and B is as sweet as sugar. It doesn't seem fair they should get such crap heaped on them(B has had her share of woes, too, but not health related).
