“The trick to this is to be patient,” Sapphire explained.

“Why?” Steel wasn’t convinced. “Can’t we just get it done?”

“That’s not the point.”

“This game makes no sense.”

“Steel, you are being overly critical.”

“It’s worse that cricket.”

“Weren’t you ever a teenager?”

“That’s a frightening thought,” Silver said, from his spot resting against the tree trunk. “Next time, we pick the game and remember revenge is a dish best served cold. We could take her to a golf game.”

Steel smiled at that. “Or curling. I just want to know when the pickles are going to be used.”
