I, for one, am glad to have Christmas in my rearview mirror. It was a great day. Barb came over and we unwrapped gifts. Dinner was prime rib with au jus, scalloped potatoes, young asparagus with a lemon aioli mayo, then Christmas pudding for dessert. It was sweet, sticky and really yummy! Lots of wine to washed everything down. Talk about tasty!
Santa/TBG was very kind to me. We both score a bunch of Studio Ghibli things, along with some DVDs, wine, a weather station (TBG) and bunches of other stuff. I can't complain one little bit.
However, I'm glad to have all the prep/pressure/stress gone. Now I can sit back and relax, watch a little TV and know that there's nothing more pressing on my agenda than making dinner.
Today we went down to TBG's office and cleaned it out. It was a little sad, but he did okay. Everything is home now and he has his exit interview at noon on Thursday. Nearly 43 years. Barb and I are cooking something up to make sure the date doesn't go unnoticed.
My hairdresser's salon got 'raided' and fined. She's staying home (worried about losing her license), so I postponed my haircut for a few weeks. The hair hasn't been growing really fast at the moment. I'm sure she wasn't happy, but it's a long drive for one inch...
Today is sunny and warm, blue skies and no wind. I think we hit 63 yesterday and probably the same now... so much for December in San Joaquin.
To those folks who have to go back to work tomorrow - I hope your day isn't horrible. For those still on break, enjoy!
