And it's hump day again...

Hope everyone is having a tolerable week so far. Mine has been interesting. I found out that the board is planning to throw me a surprise party... probably shouldn't have put it in the minutes... but I am happy they are at least considering something. I didn't think I'd get that. They are notorious about 'forgetting' such thing until I remind them of it and I really didn't want to have to plan my own party.

This morning I was cooking right along, cleaning and getting stuff done when I realized there was smoke coming from the dishwasher - lots of smoke. I shut it off and called TBG. He thinks we need a new one and plans to call the office. This one has been on its last legs for about three years now, but I've been nursing it along. We will have to hear what they say.

Our cool weather is moving out, but at the moment, the wind is gloriously cool and brisk. Good new for us, not so much for the various grass fires burning. We are already in red flag territory, usually reserved for later in July. Sigh. Here's hoping we can avoid anything too awful too early in the season.

Finished my latest project and started a new one. It's a bit more of a challenge as it's working with three different color fabrics as 'inserts.' After a couple easy projects, I'm ready for something a bit more taxing. Here is the pineapple pillow. I used a reverse quilting method on it, which simply means that I used the contrasting thread for the material to make it show up more.
