I don't have any trouble making random posts throughout the day, but I have a hard time actually doing the journaling thing, Mostly, my world is pretty boring. I go to work, push paper from one side of my desk to the other and go home

We should be fundraising all the time, but we can never seem to hold onto a fundraising chair for more than a few months - don't even get me started about our 'do-nothing' board. I wonder how many of them realize that they are responsible for our debts if we go under. We just came off our winter drive and it was pretty lean. We start with our subscription renewal in March, but they are jacking up the prices, so I'm a bit worried about that as well. What I really need to is get a job at McDonald's and be done with it.

Sounds like you need a new fundraising chair.

We most definitely need a good fundraising chair, but we haven't had one in forever, despite many people trying. Sigh...

Wow, I'd be a bit worried about the job too, especially when the finance person takes the books home at night. That seems... unorthodox. Is there an oversight committee or board who should be aware of this?
Sorry it was a rough week, but I do love the idea of creating a play archive - what a great project to undertake.

Gads, I find it hard to believe it's 200% more than yours. You always seem so busy and active.
Honestly, that project is about the only thing keeping me sane. I plan to spend lots of time on it, although it will all be for naught in a year's time. I am so ready to retire...

Wow, that's pretty amazing that a board member would explode like that. That's not being a good steward of the theater at all. For what it's worth, I think you are right to be concerned. But it sounds like you've done what you can do.
LOL - yeah, I'm busy but... it's generally with boring, routine stuff. Not fun, sociable stuff because I'm just an anti-social hermit. ;)

We actually talked retirement last night. TBG is planning to retire in 2020 unless AT&T offers him a 3-3-1 (adds three years to his age, three years to his time with the company and a year's salary) first. He admitted that we might not be able to take really nice vacations as often, but I'm willing to deal with that. A week in the Foothills is just as nice a getaway as other places. We had actually decided that this would be our last trip to Tahiti, mostly because of the flights to and from. Such a hassle.
I'm busy, too, but, like you, it's just every day stuff. I don't you are anti-anything TBH :D

I am sorry to hear about things not going so well. I hope it gets better.

I suspect it will. We've gone through this dry period before, but then we had a business manager who knew the business and was committed to us. Our new one, not so much. That's what has me a little skiddish.
Thanks! You are a good person. *hugs*

How did you find Amelie with your new knowledge of the French language??
I watched it several years ago with the subtitles off, just to see how it would go, and that was when I discovered what a VISUAL film it is. You could watch it without any sound at all, and still understand every nuance, no matter how subtle! It's quite a feat of film making. It didn't help me learn French at all, but it felt like it did because I was listening in French and, because it's so visual, I was understanding everything.

Amelie was okay, but they talk too fast for me. I was able to translate most of what the French chef was saying last night, but it was because the show was captioned and I could read, as opposed to hearing, it. I totally agree with you about the movie. It is so rich, I see something new every time.

It's much easier for me than most folks - my health is good for the most part (aside from the UTI issue), knock wood.
