How old were you when you started wearing make up?

How old were you when you got your ears pierced?

Do you remember what your first word or your child's first word if the first is too long ago?

just wondering

Make up just in the last few months; except for the odd formal or party occasion

Ears pierced in 1993 when I was 38. My mother was dead or I would not have dared. I was in Thailand with my bloke, and in a posh jewellers I bought the most gorgeous earrings, gold with stunning sapphires.
And once I had bought them, I had to get the ears pierced!

Not blessed enough to be able to answèr the last one

My mum didn't get hers pierced until she was 60, but once she did, she went crazy with the earrings. I don't wear them, so my sister got all of hers when Mum passed. The earrings do sound lovely. I adore sapphires! I even have one instead of a diamond in my wedding ring. :D

High school, probably junior year
Nursing school, in the dorm, with a 14 g needle and gold studs, after a good belt or two of vodka.
I'm told my first word was poppa (my grandfather was my poppy, hence poppa first as the poppy was harder)

Ouchies! I'm too much of a coward for that. Did it get infected?

Aw, you had a poppy? How fun!

I occasionally wore makeup between the ages of around 21 to 24 but then stopped completely.

I got my ears pierced when I was 7. Back in those times in the small gold mining community that I lived in only the Greek and Italian girls had their ears pierced. I longed to have earings like the Italian girl who lived a couple of houses down, so my mother bought me some sleepers.

The Italian mother heated up a needle in the coals in the fire and stuck it through my ear lobes, which is how they did it back in the day.
I loved having pierced ears.

I think my son's first word was da (dad).

OMG, just the thought of that makes me shudder. I never would have made it there.

And did it? Did you manage to get them level (I knew one girl who had lopsided piercings. I could never figure out why she didn't have them fixed.

I did manage to get them even, and there was no pain. I had the flu and pneumonia at the time, and nothing could make me worst.

I think I was around sixteen, but even today I only wear it for something special! Ears I had pierced at twenty-one, I wasn't too sure about it so a friend took me into a jewellers store, I though to look at a ring, then said I wanted my ears pierced, it was over before I knew it.

I have no idea what my first word was, my son and daughter both said 'da' first.

That's probably the only way I would do it, but so far, I've not succumbed. My mum didn't do hers until she was 60, so there's still time for me.
