Woot! I finished my last ever placement today! Two assignments to go and I'm finished uni!

I've slacked off a bit on the writing front again. Mostly, it's because I'm on clinicals again, but it also has a lot to do with the fact that my minds been filled to the brim with about a thousand other things lately...

So much has happened in the last nine weeks since I last updated. Uni has been hectic, this is my last semester before graduation and suddenly I'm realising just how much I don't know. I've been neglecting my poor journal again, but I've been practically run off my feet the last 3-4 weeks or so with my gerontics (aged care) placement and I'm trying to keep an oncoming cold at bay. I started my next round of hell clinicals last Monday. If I've learnt anything in the last three years its nursing students = slave labour for hospitals, and I have almost 2 more months straight of said slave labour to look forward to, lol! I don't anticipate being around much over the next few months...

Uni is officially over for the year and I managed to survive! Lol! I so incredibly thankful to be able to put this year behind me, I'm totally exhausted! I'm really happy with my results though, I did four units this semester and managed to get three A's and one B, so the hard work paid off I guess :P

I'm back to having practically no free time to myself *sigh* My clinical placement is over after I spending 3 weeks working on an orthopaedic ward and loving every minute of it! Which is a huge relief and a massive weight off of my shoulders. I saw and learnt so much while I was working there, it was absolutely amazing :D Now I have to begin ( Read more... )

I started my clinical placement for this semester last monday. Three weeks on an orthopedic ward at one of Melbourne's main public hospitals. So far things have been pretty good, I'm optimistic that the rest of the placement will also prove to be enjoyable which is a big step in the right direction for me. Urgh! It's like 1:06 in the morning and I'm still going... stupid essays. Stupid me for leaving it until the last minute :P I'm almost done, but I have like 3 pages of references to write up still :S That's what I get from procrastinating...

I'm currently 1,606 words into a 2500 word essay. You know you're struggling with an essay when you check the word count every few minutes. Getting the words onto paper has been like drawing blood from a stone.

Kill me.
