Reading 2016
Post-dated private entry to keep track of books read during 2016 (with the help of my Goodreads a/c). I'm not recording re-reads on Goodreads, but including them here in the month/position in which they were read. The only exception is where a re-read was so long ago I can't remember what happened in the book, so it might as well have been a new read.
The total number of new books I read last year was 112 (not as many as 2014 when I read 138 new books, but more than 2013 when I read 94. Re-reads each year were 63 in 2015, 58 in 2014 and 54 in 2013, so totals were 174, 196 and 148). I have set my GR target to 100 again this year (new only, re-reads don't count).
Trying to not read my Kindle at bed-time, rather reading books (mostly non-fiction) to try and clear some of the overflowing bookshelves that I have. (Not going too well this year - am reading my Kindle rather than a book at bedtime mostly so far this year - April). This is denoted whenever a book title is coloured red (fc0303) below. STARTED SERIES RE-READS BEFORE READING RECENTLY PUBLISHED LATEST BOOK - BUT ON HOLD
February 2016 - started a re-read on the Marnie Baranuik series (A J Aalto) so that I could read Book 4 in the series, but stopped after book 2 having seen some reviews on how book 4 ends up with Kill-Notch Batten betraying Marnie and then being killed. I want to get book 5 in my hands (she says it's in progress) before I commit any more to this series, as I liked Kill-Notch and Marnie's relationship much more than I do the relationship between her and her 'cold comfort' vampire.
April/May/June 2016 - started a re-read of Amanda Steven's Graveyard Queen series - or actually a re-listen as I listened to all three of these as audiobooks (great narrator). However due to reading the synopsis of Book 5 I have held off on reading the recently published Book 4 so that I know how Amelia and John's relationship continues after their separation at the end of Book 4.
June 2016 - started a re-read of Kalayna Price's Grave Witch series, leading up to reading the recently published Book 4, but didn't like what I saw of Book 4 (relationship with Death rather than the Elf detective) so decided to wait on this one until Book 5 is published and see what happens in that one.

STARTED SERIES RE-READS BEFORE READING RECENTLY PUBLISHED LATEST BOOK - BUT ON HOLD
February 2016 - started a re-read on the Marnie Baranuik series (A J Aalto) so that I could read Book 4 in the series, but stopped after book 2 having seen some reviews on how book 4 ends up with Kill-Notch Batten betraying Marnie and then being killed. I want to get book 5 in my hands (she says it's in progress) before I commit any more to this series, as I liked Kill-Notch and Marnie's relationship much more than I do the relationship between her and her 'cold comfort' vampire.
April/May/June 2016 - started a re-read of Amanda Steven's Graveyard Queen series - or actually a re-listen as I listened to all three of these as audiobooks (great narrator). However due to reading the synopsis of Book 5 I have held off on reading the recently published Book 4 so that I know how Amelia and John's relationship continues after their separation at the end of Book 4.
June 2016 - started a re-read of Kalayna Price's Grave Witch series, leading up to reading the recently published Book 4, but didn't like what I saw of Book 4 (relationship with Death rather than the Elf detective) so decided to wait on this one until Book 5 is published and see what happens in that one.
