This weekend was WarFair weekend at Hobbytown, but since none of us could afford the cover-charge to use the gameroom, we opted to run a mini-campaign of Warlord here at Chateau Ghetteau. Unglef had to work all day Saturday, but Urion and Dan stayed overnight and we managed to get ten full turns in over the course of 2 days.

Getting familiar with the rules and filling out the paperwork made the first few turns take a bit longer, but once everybody got a feel for the administrative end of running an army things began to move faster. Being spread out on the pregenerated campaign map like we were caused a few strange issues though. First of all, not being a stones-throw apart from each other, we were alot less likely to start throwing stones, which made for alot more turns before anybody was eligible for actual combat. The object of the game being to collect gold by sending companies of your army to invade and loot sections of the map, we all started land-grabbing and building up armies instead. Of course even without actual player-to-player combat, the invading armies gain experience based on dice-rolls against various charts, so that by the time any actual player-to-player tabletop combat occurred, we had all beefed up our armies like Europe in the late 1920s. In the end, only two tabletop battles were fought. The first was between me and Urion's Nefsokar, which I won with bounty points. The second game... well... let's just say I got my ass served to me on a paper plate by Dan's Darkspawn.

My sincerest apologies to my fellow members of the Tagarthos Nonpartisan Anti-Darkspawn League. I try hard..and I mean well... but old snake-eyes works in mysterious ways.

Luckily though my quest for real-estate and mineral rights paid off. I had been "Revenating the countryside and revenated all the peasants in their thatch roof cottages".

Here is THE MAP
