"This is nice," Brian Haner says to no one in particular. Zacky Baker nods, agreeing silently. The two world-wide rock idols are sprawled out on top of the rooftop of the record studio. It was Brian's idea, something about inner-chi and how the height made him feel more intimate with his soul. Zacky, being the younger of the two, decided to follow. It was something new, yes?
So here the two were, sprawled out. Brian facing north, and Zacky facing south. The two were laying, eyes closed and Zacky's mouth slightly open.
"How does it feel?" Zacky asked quietly. Brian opened his left eye, looking up at the royal blue sky, dusted with the stars coming out.
"How does what feel?" Brian asked. Zacky shrugged, both eyes coming open.
"You know, being the amazing "Rock God" in our band?" Zacky explained, re-asking his previous question. Brian laughed.
"Zack, I could ask you the same thing," Brian answered. Zacky smiled.
"What about getting married to Sarah?" Zacky asked. He wanted to know what it was like to be getting married, sharing an intimate bond with someone. Well, him and Brian had an intimate relationship, but that was something different. Right?
Brian's smile stopped. "Um..." Brian drifted, soon his throat tightening. Zacky stared at the sky, slightly confused of Brian's hesitant answer.
"Everything alright, Bri?" Zacky asked. Brian tried as best as he could to relax his throat so he could answer Zacky.
"Uhm, we're not on speaking terms. The wedding's off," Brian answered timidly. Zacky twisted his face into one of confusion and shock.
"Why, what happened?"
"You know her cable guy..."
"Oh."
Brian sighed, looking up to the sky. He smiled sadly at the now navy blue sky, stars shining brightly.
"They'll be other chances for marriage," Brian spoke sadly. Zacky nodded.
"Yeah, of course," Zacky agreed, reaching his hand out for Brian's. Brian tilted his head and upon noticing Zacky's hand, grasped it in his own, fingers lacing. Zacky brought their tangled hands to his lips and kissed Brian's ring finger.
"You'll find the right one," Zacky whispered.
