Opening night came faster than I expected it would. I thought there'd be this long torturous wait to finally get to the fun part of the job. Surprisingly enough, I went home, took a hot shower [very much needed], and went to sleep. Now it's opening night and I have an hour to spare before getting into my car and heading over to Davey's make-up la-la-land to get all dark and gory. Great.
I decide to sit in my room and turn on Ricki Lake. That's always entertaining. Some shit about "baby momma drama" or whatever the hell they call it now. I like to call it "a slut sleeping around and a man who won't support her". It's like, tough luck sweetie, you're on your own.
Checking the clock again, I notice only about fifteen out of the sixty minutes have gone by. I can do this, I don't need to be there early, it's not like I feel a desperate need to be by Davey, Hunt, and Adam. No, no hurry.
Gah! Who the hell am I kidding? I have no life outside of a job I just started at. How. Fucking. Pathetic. Only two days and the first day I didn't even do shit. Just got my ass pinched by Davey. Very productive, eh?
I hug my pillow closer to my chest. I don't have to go, I won't go. Looking at the clock, it has now been seventeen out of the sixty minutes. Ah, screw it! I'm leaving, it's way too boring here anyway. It has absolutely nothing to do with Davey, at all.

"Is Davey here, yet?" I ask Celia at the front desk. Today she's not "Corporate Barbie" she'd be more like "Goth Barbie"...if only heaven made those. I guess it's just a rumor between us scene kids. Her hair isn't even blonde today, it's black with purple tips.
Celia looks up from the desk she was currently sitting at, checking off some sort of checklist with a fuzzy black gel pen. Oh yes, it's still Celia. She looks up, lips painted dull plum and eyes decortated in a smokey black smudge with "Emily The Strange" liquid eyeliner drawn in intricate gothic decor. Alright, I've spent too much time looking at Davey's make-up.
"Can't you tell?" she asks with a smile, pointing at her face. I return her smile and nod. Yeah, she's right, that would definitely be Davey's doing. "Thanks," I mutter before heading into the hallway.

"Davey?" I ask knocking on his door, "Dave?" The door opens to reveal Davey, raven hair pinned back, bobby pin in his mouth. Oh yes, he's been getting busy.
"C'mon," he mumbles, tugging me by the arm into his make-up room. I sit on the love seat as I watch Davey finish up on some other dude that I guess I'll eventually meet. I mean, we must work in the same area. He gives me a nod before hopping off the chair and out of the room. As he closes the door, Davey ushers me over to the chair.
"Why are you here so early, boy?" Davey asks, opening some Max Factor compact. I shrug.
"Eh, home was boring," I answer. Well, that's not completely a lie. Davey nods and gets to work on my eyes, first using big brush strokes and as he goes along, shorter brush strokes filling in the gaps. Davey giggles, not messing up his masterpiece aka my make-up.
"Sorry to brake it to you Kitten, but it's not all that great here either," Davey points out. I shrug slightly.
"I have no life. It's kind of sad that I'm so excited to get here," I explain. Davey's doe eyes look hopeful as he looks to me, smile big.
"This place sort of grows on you," Davey says. "Besides, I like having you around." And with that Davey switched to eyeliner. I smiled smally.
"I like having you around, too," I agree. Davey smiles again and begins to draw.

"Dead bodies everywhere, you really want me..." The music drifts through the warehouse. I'm hiding in the shadows, behind a corner waiting to jump out at my victims. I've been stalking them very well, if I do say so myself. The black light aids me. Since this whole haunted house is illuminated with black light, it's easy to follow the white of the customers' shirts.
"Why you make me feel like no one..." The end of the chorus rings. As the customers stop to stare at the life-like huge spider webs, I quickly leap out and pull the rope on my fake chainsaw. It's pretty realistic looking. As the chainsaw roars, I quickly run towards the customers, holding the chainsaw in front of myself. The two teenage girls I was "stalking" turn, scream their lungs out, and run.
I laugh to myself. Tonight has been great. All these people I get to scare. Heh, heh. Oh! I hear people coming along. I quickly run behind another corner and wait for the kill.

"Oh my god," I sigh out, sitting on the bench outside of the warehouse. We just finished closing up and all I can say is that I'm exhausted. Who knew that a night of running around like this could be so tiring. Well I did, but that's not the point.
"Hey man," someone says as I'm greeted with the presence of another. Looking to my right I notice that one guy I saw Davey fixing up earlier today. I smile.
"Hi," I say shyly. He returns the smile.
"Man, you were intense tonight. I saw you from the other side of the house and woah! I'm Frank by the way," Frank compliments/introduces. I giggle.
"Uh, thanks. I'm Jade," I reply. Frank nods.
"Oh yeah. Davey said he'd meet us over here," Frank informs me. I smile, Davey...wait-oh screw it. Never mind. As if on cue, I hear a shrill "Jade! Frankie!" Frankie? Alright then... Davey soon drops down next to us.
"Hey you two!" Davey greets hugging Frank. Frankie smiles and hugs back and before I know it, I'm latched onto by Davey.
"Umpf," I groan. I don't hesitate to hug back, hands running up and down his sides. Davey giggles and snuggles into me, face in my neck. Frank grins and points at me, quietly snickering. I roll my eyes. The thing is, I really don't mind having Davey attached to me. Davey pulls away and still has his goofy grin planted onto his lips. I smile as well, I mean, if Frank and Davey are smiling, why don't I, right?
"Alright, well Jepha is expecting me back home," Frank starts looking at his watch, "so I gotta jet." With that, Frank gives us a grin and a wave and starts heading to his car. Davey turns to me and leans over to my ear.
"Jade," he whispers, "I need to show you somethin'," Davey says. I turn my head to face his. Davey smiles and grasps my hand in his, leading me away from the bench.
