Wildlife clinic is going well. Have lots of practice with x-rays, blood taking, and drugs now. I have killed lots of swans, ducks, foxes and such, but have also saved a few too. They mostly get killed cause they have to be 100% in order to be released into the wild (makes sense), and so there is lots of x-raying to show fractures or bone infections so then i get to euthanise them on the x-ray table. So tons of experience with ivs now. Got bit by an overeager ferret that got stamped on by evil children. We fixed its leg and it was getting so rambuncitious and trying to pull out the pins in its leg, that i gave it a ball to play with and it chewed on my finger in thanks. I could really see myself being happy to work at a clinic like this, but I think they would like me to have a residency in Wildlife/Exotics, which i don't know if i have the energy to keep doing school for another 3 years.
The bed and breakfast is less that and more of paying to experience insane family life while trying to be a polite unimposing guest. The mother can't make me breakfast cause she needs to get her 3 kids ready for school, so I make my own cereal (i don't really care, but i don't see how she can run a bed and breakfast for more demanding people who are expecting a cooked breakfast). Then at night i am allowed to make my dinner in her kitchen instead of going out each night, but the family dynamic roars and screams for the next 3 hours until they are all forced to go to bed and i can sit queitly and check my email (from the lady's computer) I appreicate that she is being really nice, but her kids feel really put upon having to share their space, tv, and computer with a complete stranger, so I just sit in my room until they finish dinner and then venture down so by the time i am finishing my dinner they are heading to bed and i don't feel like i am forcing them to watch my shows or talk to me. The mother yells at them if they hand me the remote or say hi to me.
anyways. later
