Abandon all hope!
All moved in now to the apartment. The kitchen is enormous, so almost worth the headache of useless realtors. Nick is enjoying his first week of Ph.D ness, grew a beard and everything! People have complimented him on it, stating that it makes him look older and definately PhD-like. He wisely ignored the suggestion of wearing white socks and birkenstocks.
Just got out of a talk about Bluetongue the newest disease making itself known in the UK. Unlike Foot and Mouth, there is really no prevention or treatment or any real hope of getting on top of this (the hope is to create a vaccine.....in 2 years....if they reopen the lab that released Foot and Mouth into the groundwater).
Feeling a bit hopeless and that most people are dumb about basic hygiene.
