I'm sure I heard somewhere that the trainer over the wire thing is to indicate that drugs are for sale there. Might have remembered that wrong though.

I think the real story is that some folks like to throw shit over the wires, and then the rest of the people, rather than admit that they have no idea why someone would be motivated to do that, make something up. Very American thing to do. *nods*
