If there are no guns, you can't kill or be killed by one.

And that goes for any weapon.

Having said that, no weapon kills by itself. Until used as such, surely a weapon is just an object?

I read somewhere that that man who invented the cross-bow thought it was so violent it would end all wars.

So did the man who invented the machine gun.

and the men who invented the nuclear bomb.

See a pattern?

Yep. And I think the guy who invented the Atom (or Nuclear?) Bomb wanted to destroy it when he realised it could/would be used for bad things.

So..why invent it then?
