The Windy City Burlesque Fest is tonight, (and tomorrow too), and I go on at 8. Crazy nervous to be performing along side hot ticket performers like Miss Indigo Blue and Coco Lectric. I'm doing my "gender bender, what is beauty, what is it that we put out for people to see and/or oogle at, what is it that we keep hidden, and why do we have to hide it all under so many layers" routine. It's to a great song by Katzenjammer, called Tea and Cinnamon, which is alot darker than it seems. I'd like to think this is a very personal piece. I try to make all my burlesque pieces have some sort of message other than "look I have b-cups". I've always enjoyed the "peeling" of layers, and playing on that notion outside of just "sexy". I took most of last year off of burlesque performance to take care of RL, and I'm glad to be back on the horse. I think this is a great kick off to the new year.
This is the only vid I have of this piece, and this was it's debut at my old show the Varietease Cabaret. This was my fest submission.
