Right Before I Go to Bed

I've found that lights, like street lights and the lights outside of public buildings, tend to go out when I get near them. Not all of them, but often enough that it makes me wonder. Perhaps that sort of thing happens to everyone. Perhaps it's just coincidence.

The street light at the end of my street tends to go out whenever I pass it while driving home from work. I've been keeping track now, and there doesn't seem to be any pattern as far as time goes. I work at a fast food place, so the time varies constantly based off of how fast we finish cleaning and stocking for the night.

But not tonight. Tonight, as I approached my street, I looked expectantly at the lamp, only to find that it was already out.

Tonight, as I passed by, it turned on.
