Updates: Last I looked, the dummy was still hanging around. Apparently the One Piece fanart was something done for illustration class. Lucky for that kid that the prof. knows nothing about anime. Copyright much?
This weekend was a blast. Once again I procrastinated all my homework (like I'm doing now!) and went out of town. On the 17th, I went to St. Louis with buddies. Got my nails done, saw one of those bigger-than-IMAX movies at the science center, and saw a Hudson River School exhibit at the museum (thanks Trang). I had already had Modern Art, so it was very cool to see some of this stuff in person as opposed to a slide. The little details they could get in with a paintbrush is amazing. Sheesh. I don't think I'll ever have that patience.
This weekend I went to the Kansas City Renaissance Festival. Sam's mom had been a member of the cast, so Amanda and I were able to barrow a bodice and a skirt each. I'm not usually one for dressing up, but I figured it'd be a fun thing to do, especially w/friends. I completely forgot about sunscreen though. Now I have a rather interesting burn line. Am currently wearing a tank-top to avoid skin-to-anything contact. Woo.
I got my hair done by the Bradin' Maidens. It was a bit more expensive than I expected ($25) but I liked it (or rather, like it, as I haven't taken the braid out yet). According to Kira, who apparently knows something about this sort of thing, it's a double french braid. It wraps around my head, and I got little peach flowers to stick in it. XD
I saw the jousting for the first time. It was a hoot. They make it a very light-hearted and simple. Good vs. Evil. Our side got to cheer for Good. It was a bit predictable in who would win, which really makes me wonder. I mean, I imagine it would take considerable skill to choreograph a joust, wouldn't it? And one hit the other with enough force to shatter the end of his joust. Or was it a prop meant to do that? Eh, either way it was cool.
After we were tired of the RenFest, we went to a local oriental market. We got moon cakes! Yay!
And now homework. Aww, poo. But it's due in 3 days. ... Crap.
