Iron Bowl 2005

Nov 22, 2005 12:31

So last saturday was the Iron Bowl, and I was able to finally attend an edition. It was so surreal, the events leading up to the game; the people were absolutely glazed over in a tempestuous fervor, and tiger walk was bigger than I've ever seen. The student section filled up 90 minutes prior to kickoff, and the entire bowl was full 45 minutes to kick. Traffic was at an all time worst. Matt made us uber-late, by the way, which left us without our preferred seats. I sat next to a Bama fan whom I was ready to absolutely murder. Then I passed out from all the screaming and lack of energy left within me, and subsequently forgot to make an important phone call, of which I'm still sorry. Then we went to Columbus, and made crude sexual references for the majority of the remainder of the night. All in All, it was a good day, other than Ole Miss losing, and even that couldn't keep me down. Now I'm back in the Hoover, and all is as it normally is. It's been a very surreal last few days.

Quote of the Day: "Ok Paw-paw, I'll give you your auburn game. But come on, we just plain won. Thats how you play the game. Defense can win a game as well as offense can. And drew, buddy, if #5 Florida and #17 Tennessee aren't test enough, then maybe we should move Texas and USC into the SEC. I mean Texas is in the south and USC is SOUTHERN Cal so that could work. And all this talk of auburn beating alabama. Well I'll just let my team do the talking in that one. My second string team. JP Wilson will score a TD on auburn. I'm calling it now. It worked for irons. Who by the way looks like a strong running back for the future and even this year. And cox is much improved. I'll admit I was pulling for yall saturday. But theres still no chance to be saved from the Tide."
