Two thirds of people don't care about the collecting of phone call data because they know that
1) it's highly to very unlikely that anything they have ever said on the phone was heard by an uninvited third party, and
2) they understand that listening in to phone calls where there is just cause is beneficial to keeping us safe.
I realize that I'm not going to change your mind. But I do think that making connections between our country as it is and Hitler's Germany is completely illogical. I'm tired of a few people whining very loudly about something that is never going to hurt them. Frankly, I could care less if there are a few people who are pissed off that the government can find out who they call and how often, or that the government might listen to their phone calls if they are talking on the phone to a terrorist suspect. I would rather those people be uncomfortable than have some building in Atlanta blow up while I'm up there for a visit because the government was more concerned about the feelings of an overly suspicious minority than doing their jobs and keeping us safe.
