so... i woke up at my friend john's place (no.. i have a friend named john... i'm not talking in third person to make it sound like i have friends when i don't... i think...) to see that square wail was gone.
EXPLANATION: last night was my first live performance EVAR. i opened for square wail, a chiptunes artist from seattle. we rocked so hard i was sore ALL DAY. my friend john attended the show, and offered us to crash at his place (since square wail had no place to crash that night, we said sure!).
i took a shower... drove to campus, grabbed some food and met with doc stull.
EXPLANATION: doc stull is an amazing professor at my university who is going through a lot of rough stuff. i'll probably have a whole blog on him some day... until then just know that he is amazing... here's some evidence:
and i'm helping him as his online publicist. ^_^
we talked about some stuff, and then afterwards i got a call from john, and we decided to meet up at the alibi (local bar) with a couple of awesome peeps to hang out. one of those peeps was a female that i thought i was no longer crushing on. so not the case. sigh
we talked about a lot of local politics... making me want to get back involved with stuff like hsustudentact again. we made plans later to hang out and make enchilades.
while waiting... i got called up by my friend eric, who said that the mom of my best friend, bob, was in town and wanted to have dinner with those of bob's friends that were in town, since bob is in san diego doing grad research on plasma physics (cause he's fricking SMART). this doesn't happen... EVAR, so i decided to go. found out that his dad is having some health problems (had to be brought down from crescent city to the local hospital). imma visit him in the hospital and call up bob tomorrow.
during dinner i got two calls: one from john (going "WTF?!") one from another friend, sarah (going "Z0MG LONG TIEM NO SEEEEE!!1"). i left a message with sarah and went to john's to hang out. i was no longer hungry so i just chilled and worked on my story some more. sarah called back... and we talked local politics some more.
i left early from the party at john's to sleep because at 9:30 tomorrow i'm hanging out with my good friend scott. he's been in the uk all summer... and is transfering to uc bakersfield... meaning i won't really see him much evar again. :(
so here i am, at the end of the day pondering about the brevity and fragility of life; the bonds of friends and family; the responsibility of trying to make a difference in the world; what path my future holds; my self identity; my desires for a relationship (or lack thereof); and the world around me, both directly and globally.
