Goals for 2011: Revisited

Dec 26, 2011 23:22

The year is coming to a close, and since I made some pretty lofty goals at the beginning of the year, I thought it'd be nice to go back and see how well I did. :)

The biggies:

1. Get a new, awesome job. Check!
2. Hop right back on the dating horse. Don't let the situation with Joe get me down. Don't settle for whatever I can get; date someone I see potential with/am attracted to. And hopefully, if possible, have my first boyfriend this year. I did go on two dates, but neither one was a good fit. I probably COULD have had my first boyfriend, though, if I had settled. That counts, right?
3. Take a trip to NYC sometime in the spring, or possibly fall. Failed. Maybe next year?
4. Lose weight; not obsessively and not through excessive measures... but just shed a few of the extra pounds I've gained back since my major weight loss a few years back. Goal weight: 199. Epic fail.
5. Do a better job of maintaining my appearance. This involves: doing my nails, not letting my hair turn disgusting colors/lengths, keeping up with my routine eyebrow maintenance, etc. I did this more toward the end of the year, but it counts! :)
6. Keep my apartment relatively clean. Sometimes... but not always.

The not-so-biggies:

1. Go swing dancing at least once, preferably with an actual date so I will actually dance.
2. Go to Rocky Horror at the IMA again. They didn't show it, but I went to a showing in Fountain Square instead! :)
3. Actually dress up for Halloween/go to a party.
4. Spend more quality time with friends; in particular, go visit Kyle and Anna more often.
5. Finish reading Craig Ferguson's "American On Purpose"
6. Play Rock Band more often.
7. Take more quality pictures. (I feel like I didn't take very many good ones this year.)
8. Go to a water park this summer.
9. Go camping this fall.
10. Play laser tag more often.
11. Go to Fountain Square more often.
12. Journal more often.
13. Work on my self-image. (I've already improved on this A LOT... if you know me, you know that's true... but I still have room to grow.
14. Wear my hair in a ponytail less often. It's the lazy way out.
15. Dance more.
16. Host more movie nights.
17. Have a Mardi Gras party again.
18. Cuddle A LOT MORE. And hug my friends more often.
19. Expect less, love more.
20. Sing louder and more often.
21. Go out more often, and to different places sometimes. Mix it up. I actually went to Talbott St and Howl at the Moon, so I'd say that counts!
22. Write reviews of the movies I see and music I listen to, just for the heck of it. Or as a career. ;)
23. Spend less time sitting around, frittering my life away.
24. Have a more positive outlook.
25. Be happier, on purpose.
26. Maintain friendships. Even with men who have rejected me. Especially with Joe. Because I don't want to lose him as a friend just because I'm hurt about the loss of romantic feelings. Did NOT maintain a friendship with Joe, but it's for the best.
27. Go to more awesome concerts. Saw Rooney and Eisley on Valentine's Day, and saw Hanson and Hot Chelle Rae!
28. Be more encouraging/give more compliments. Maybe? I don't know if I've done that or not.

year in review, goals
