Currently, I am typing, drinking orange Crush from a glass bottle, listening to Phil Collins, looking at my computer screen, and waiting for Busso to arrive.
And thus, I have time to update!! I know you're thrilled.
But now I'm going to have to remember what I have/haven't written about. What a chore!
Alright, in looking back at previous entries, it seems that the last time I wrote was Monday, March 30, when I saw I Love You, Man with Christy and Erin. So, rundown of events following that one:
- On Tuesday, March 31, I worked and then Candace came over in the evening. I made lasagna for the first time, which was pretty successful. The only problem was that I forgot to take the meat out of the freezer, so I had trouble getting it ready, and we ended up having to wait an hour or so after she got here to eat. But she said it tasted good, so that's what matters, right? And I got a bunch of leftovers for like a week. So much so that I threw some away today. Next time I'll have to make it for a larger group so I have fewer leftovers. We also watched Love Story (since I had given it to her for her birthday) and then, because that movie is a huge downer, we ate ice cream and watched Zoolander. She hadn't seen either movie, and liked them both. Yay for me for providing the Enlightenment Hour!
- On Wednesday, April 1, the corporate auditor came to check out our store at work. I had never seen her, so I ran into her in my stockroom, as she was counting my shoe mismates and looking at my paperwork. I then asked our Visual Specialist, Mary, who it was, and she took me to introduce us. It was Lynn! I had heard her name many times, but had never seen her. And they said I had a good audit! Yay me!! After work, I went to Red Robin for dinner with Susan, thinking I had gift cards left. I ended up having a few cents on each. Boo! But it was awesome anyway. And then Susan wanted a haircut, so we went to Great Clips. At the time she acted like it was good, but last night she said the chick screwed it up and she has to get it fixed. My bad! Not that I MADE her go or anything. I think she was just really wanting the haircut. So I don't blame myself (even if she blames me... haha).
- On Thursday, April 2, I was off work, and they got a visit from the Regional Manager, Brian. I found out on Friday that my department was one of the top 2 best departments, and that he gushed about how my stockroom is the best stockroom he's ever seen, and that my sales floor is the best he's seen in a while. And asked multiple times to meet me, but they of course informed him that I wasn't working. So... thumbs up for me!! As far as what I did that day... I went to Kyle and Anna's!!!! I got there around 3pm, and we hung out, watched some British TV series called Blackadder that Kyle wanted me to see (pretty funny), went and got pizza and crazy bread from Little Caesar's (they paid, as I had no money... thanks guys!!!!), and then watched the rest of The Office season 4. We finished it right in time for me to head home, so we didn't get around to Kung Pow. Next time!!
- On Friday, April 3, I worked and found out about how awesome I am and how the visit went. After work, Angie texted me as I was on my way home, wanting to go out for dinner. As I was low on funds, I said I would if it was cheap, and we settled on Bdubs. Not my favorite place, but not bad. And Angie offered to pay for my food, to celebrate my success at work. Yay!!! And then we spontaneously decided to go to the movies, and we saw... I Love You, Man. Yep, my 2nd time! I finally used the 2nd free ticket she gave me on my birthday, and it was awesome. I love that movie. Just as awesome the 2nd time!
- On Saturday, April 4, my mom and grandma visited, as I had the weekend off. We had lunch at Real Hacienda, shopped at Kohl's with my 30% off coupon (got so much for so little!!!), and then stopped by Cara's senior art show to check out her art and say hi (and get some pictures!), and then we went to Wal-Mart for groceries before heading back to my apartment. Then, we went to dinner at the new HUGE Olive Garden at Hamilton, and then went to see... you guessed it... I Love You, Man. 3rd time's a charm!!! Still as great as the first two times. And even my mom and grandma loved it. I told my grandma I had to sit next to her and listen to see if she laughs at the raunchy jokes, so I could tell Grandpa on her. And I told my mom that I knew she'd laugh at them, because she's a pervert. (This is based on her laughing at the non-funny perverted stuff in the 40-year-old Virgin.)
- On Sunday, April 5, we had lunch at Johnny Rockets and I took them to the Castleton mall. While at Johnny Rockets, we found out that Borders was having a 50% off sale on all CDs and DVDs because they're getting rid of them all. We went, and the deals weren't that great, as the stuff is super expensive to start with. But I did find a normal-priced Rush greatest hits CD, so that ended up being a good deal. I also got a few movies that were sanely priced. Then we shopped, first at Lane Bryant, where I found a big wad of nothing, aside from one jacket that is AWESOME and green and gray plaid. And it was the only one left, and fits. So thumbs up to that... which meant I finally got rid of the remaining amount on a gift card I got for there a long time ago. Also, we went to Gap so I could spend the $10 gift thing they sent me, and I couldn't find anything good on the sale racks. BUT I did find some KICK-FACE gray pinstripe walking shorts. They're super awesome. I've been wanting walking shorts for a long time, so I snatched those puppies up quick. We also found some awesome ankle socks, with fun colors/designs, that were on sale. Yay Gap!! The only bad thing is that I asked at work, and I can't wear the walking shorts. Because they don't go PAST the knee, only TO it. So lame. So that means you all have the job of figuring out somewhere I can go that's dressy enough for businesslike walking shorts, so I can wear them. And, go!
After shopping, we went home, and then we drove separately to Anderson in the POURING RAIN, and had dinner at Texas Roadhouse. Mmmm, so yummy. And then we parted ways.
- On Monday, April 6, I worked... and I think that's about it, because I had to close, and thus couldn't go to a movie or anything with Christy. And after work, I had to go right to bed.
- On Tuesday, April 7, I worked again, and then got together with Ian, Ron, Carrie, and Gregor at Gregor's house to play HALO. Boys' night!!! hahaha Gregor got pizza from Little Caesar's... and I got my butt handed to me by the guys. As I knew I would. But I did kill each of them at least once!!! So I chalk that one up as a success. Once again, I had a great idea for hanging out. I always do. ;) I'm a good hangout planner.
- On Wednesday, April 8, it was SUSAN'S BIRTHDAY!!!!! So I wished her happy birthday like 3,000 times, and bugged her 100,879 times about whether or not we were going out for her birthday. She finally texted me back with an invite to go to dinner at Houlihan's. So I went. Crazy expensive, but I used the money my grandma had given me while she was here, so it didn't put a dent in my bank account. And I had to. It's a birthday! You have to go out for a birthday, if you are invited. No excuses. (In my mind, anyway.) It was nice to see everyone, too. Everyone including Anita, Miranda, Cory, and Mike. Hadn't seen Mike in forever, and found out that he moved back to the area. Sweet! After dinner, all but Cory went back to Susan, Anita, and Miranda's place to have some ice cream and watch a bit of TV. After a while, Mike and I left.
And now I'm caught up to today!! Today, so far, I went to the leasing office and filled out some paperwork to start the process of re-upping my lease. Or whatever you say. Not sure if that's the right phrasing. So that's done! And on time. So I'm good.
Now, like I said, I'm waiting for Busso to get here. No idea what we'll do during the afternoon, except that I want to get pizza for dinner. Then we'll be watching The Office later, at 8... and then Parks and Recreation at 8:30... and then The Office again at 9... and then we'll be going to the movies to meet up with Ron, Carrie, and Shane, to see... ONE GUESS. Yep. I Love You, Man... for my 4th time. I don't think I've seen a movie more than 3 times in theater since Titanic, so that's a big deal. It's awesome!!! Plus, it's on the discount ticket price list now for my Frequent Moviegoer Card. (I love this theater. LOVE.)
Exciting!!! And she's gonna spend the night tonight, and then leave sometime tomorrow, probably in the morning. I have to close at work tomorrow night (blehhhh;alsh;dflkha;sldhfh).
But life is still awesome!! Thumbs up.
