My vacation has been OUTSTANDING.
I'm not sure where I left off... so I'll just go through all of the awesome stuff I've done since I've been off work.
On Wed. night, I went out to dinner at Real Hacienda with Candace. We ended up staying there talking for 2 and a half hours, which was pretty sweet. After that I went home, and got there just in time to watch American Idol and then Shane sent out an invite on twitter to come over and hang out, so I took him up on that and we watched Hot Rod and then played Rock Band. I think I wrote about this day, so no more details needed.
Thursday, we had Northeast Lunch Faction (aka NELF) at the Keystone mall food court. I picked up Carrie and Ron on the way, and they tried to make themselves fit in my tiny car. Not so easy!! Especially poor Carrie in the back with my snow shovel. :) We got there a bit late, but we still made it while everyone was eating. Lately NELF has just been me and Ian, because he had to change it to a later time. But this time he had to move it up earlier, so a TON of people came: Sheryl, Angie, Angie's friend, me, Ron, Carrie, Sasha, and Ian. It was a lot of fun!! Then I went home and relaxed and took a nap, and then later went to Shane's to watch The Office and play Rock Band and suffer through an episode of LOST with him and Lauren. Good times, even watching LOST (because we made fun of it the whole time, haha).
Friday, I met Angie for lunch at Bob Evans, which was awesome (even though I was late (sorry about that!!)). Country fried steak, mmmm. Then I went home and relaxed for a bit before heading to Kyle and Anna's over on the west side. When I got there, Anna was doing something, so Kyle and I turned on the TV and we made fun of the news. This lady basically was interviewed calling herself stupid, on national TV. So funny!! And another channel had a doctor feeling up some lady's armpit. And we turned to it RIGHT as he was doing it, so we're like WHAT IN THE WORLD. And then that became something that happens when a man has feelings for a woman. And Anna came out and we were talking about it, and she said it probably was to feel for cancer lumps. But I thought she said cancer WORMS, so I was like WHAT? So that became our joke. That a man will feel up a woman's armpit for cancer worms. :) Then we found a Chinese place nearby, and started driving to it, and passed a place where a Beauty School was apparently above a Liquor store... but they put the signs in the windows RIGHT ABOVE the Liquor sign. So it basically said "Beauty School Liquor." I took a picture, but it's too far away to really tell. Then I ended up spotting a closer Chinese place, so we went there, and they were awesome! Nice lady. And the food was pretty good, although Kyle said his wasn't the best. And then we watched The Office season 3, from where we left off last time I visited until the season finale. So much fun!!! I laughed until I actually cried! Which does NOT happen often enough. But it was the scene where Dwight has been chosen as the new regional manager, and the conversation goes like this:
Dwight: Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim, Jim.
Jim: Oh, hey Dwight.
Dwight: I am going to be your new boss. It is my greatest dream come true. Welcome to the Hotel Hell. Check-in time is now. Check-out time is never!
Jim: Does my room have cable?
Dwight: No. And the sheets are made of fire!
Jim: Can I change rooms?
Dwight: Sorry, we’re all booked up. Hell convention in town.
Jim: Can I have a late check-out?
Dwight: I'll have to talk to the manager.
Jim: You're not the manager? Even in your own fantasy?
Dwight: I'm the owner. The co-owner. With Satan!
Jim: Okay, just so I understand it. In your wildest fantasy, you are in hell, and you are co-running a bed and breakfast with the devil.
Dwight: Yeah, but I haven’t told you my salary yet.
Jim: Go.
Dwight: 80,000. Dollars. A year!
Such a great time hanging with those two. As always!
Saturday, I stayed home during the day to deep clean my apartment, and then Busso came around 4pm. We went downtown for dinner, and then we went to Goodwill, where I got a new vase, and then we went onward to swing dancing at Cafe Agape. Good times! Ian and Alex were there, too, and we goofed off with them quite a bit. Also, Kyle S. and Chris were there, so I danced with both of them. We also met this guy John, who I had randomly added on Facebook. Cool guy. Taught me how to not screw up a couple of dance moves. :)
Then we went to Steak n Shake, which was fun. And Gregor, Isha, and Dan joined us there.
Sunday, Busso left in the morning to make it home in time for lunch with her fam, and I met up with Lauren, Shane, and Sasha around noon to play LASER TAG!!! I hadn't been since 8th grade or something, so I was SUPER excited. And it didn't let me down! So much fun. We decided we should do it more often, like once a month. We better follow through with that!
After, we went to Johnny Rockets and had some lunch before we parted ways.
Around 6pm, Susan and Cara came over for our little "dinner party." I made spaghetti, and we caught up with each other. It was a really fun time. Hopefully we can have a repeat, and I can learn to make something else by then... ;)
And today, I'm going to meet Angie for lunch at Panera in a bit, and then... probably just relaxing around home, unless someone invites me to do something later this evening. It's my last day of vacation! Sad. But oh well, I think I soaked up every ounce of fun I possibly could've. So I win.
Yay vacation! Yay for old friends, new friends, and those in-between! Yay for swing dancing! Yay for laser tagging! And yay for... life? haha
