As Michael Scott would say...

"I'll be back. And I am back."

I spent the past week in Florida, and it was a good time. My mom and I flew down last Saturday and stayed with my maternal grandparents at their house. (The same house we stayed in last time, but this time they were there.)

We spent a couple of days shopping at a nearby mall and a new Kohl's store (which is AMAZING and has three times the amount of awesome stuff that our store has). I got a lot of new, awesome clothes. You'll have to see them.

The most exciting part of that? I have now lost enough weight that it's starting to affect my size! I can now (sometimes) fit into a Misses' XL!!!!

It was mostly exciting because of the BRAND of Misses' clothes I fit into. Elle. The new fashion brand at Kohl's. The one they describe over the intercom with this fun little slogan:  "Make this your most fashionable spring ever with Elle."

And the clothes are soooo awesome!! I bought two dresses, I think three shirts, and then in the women's department I got two shirts and a skirt. I'm set for spring. And I'll look SUPER CUTE, too. :)

We spent a fair amount of time at the beach, which is why I now have a blotchy sunburn in various places. But that's OK. Most of that is from the day we spent a couple of hours there, some of which I spent swimming in the Gulf. Good times.

Have I mentioned I love Florida? Because I love Florida. (No, I don't want to live there.)

We ate out at good restaurants, went to the jetties in Venice, had my FAVORITE flavor of ice cream (strawberry cheesecake) at a little ice cream shop in Venice, bought some little tokens of Florida-ness, watched great movies (In the Land of Women, Martian Child), went to see a decent movie (Drillbit Taylor (it's been done before, and better, but it was OK)), and watched way too much Little House on the Prairie. (Thanks, Grandma.)

And on the drive back, we ate dinner at Cracker Barrel in Elizabethtown, KY. I looked for Elizabethtown merchandise, but they had none. Blast. Foiled again.

It was a fun and welcome distraction from my current life.
