That's what she said.

Jael and I had our little mini-vacay to Indy last weekend, and it was pretty fantastic. I aimed to leave around 3:30pm on Friday, but then I couldn't find one of my shoes or a blanket and still was trying to pack, so I ended up leaving around 4, I think. Then, just like the weekend before, I forgot something after making 30-45 mins of the drive. And once again it was something important. It was the paperwork needed to show the hotel so that I could use my mom's bank card, AND all of the maps I had printed out of how to get to places we were going during the weekend. Drat.

So I called my brother and had him bring the paperwork and meet me halfway, so we did that and it worked out fine. But that put me quite a bit behind in getting to Jael's, so instead of getting there around 5:20, I got there after 6. So I went to her house, we loaded her stuff up, and then we took off. I stopped at Burger King for a quick dinner, then we went to Indy. Found the hotel without any problems, checked in, unloaded, and then left for the IMA.

It was pretty easy to find, too, so that was no problem. Took us a while to find a parking space, though. Then we wandered around, having NO CLUE where we were supposed to go. This other chick that seemed lost asked us what we were looking for, and we just told her we didn't know what the heck we were doing. So I tried to call Suzi, but she didn't answer (or didn't have her cell with her?), so I called Gregor, and luckily he did answer. He kind of talked down to me (which wasn't appreciated), acting like I should know where I'm going, but oh well, I'll let it slide. So we went inside and bought tickets (got 2 of the last 4) and then followed the "trail" to where everything was going on. When we got out there, we looked around and couldn't see them, so I called him again and he gave us a general direction and then I saw Suzi waving us down, so that was good. Oh, the group was: me, Jael, Suzi, Shawn, Laurie, and Gregor.

Then I had a mild issue, but that passed quickly and Jael and I finally got ourselves settled in on her blanket. I turned around to Shawn, and I was like, "I met you once, right?" He's like, "Yeah, I didn't think you'd remember." I was like, "Psh, of course I do. It was at the art opening, right?" Then they were playing hip-hop music and I was singing Chris Brown lyrics to Jael. After a little while, the movie started. Say Anything, directed by Cameron Crowe (one of my favorite directors). It was pretty much great. I'm a fan.

After the movie, we picked our stuff up and headed out. I asked Suzi if they were doing anything after, and she said she didn't know and asked Gregor, and they decided to go to Denny's. So we all took off in our separate cars, with some vague directions in our heads. I ended up going the wrong direction, so we turned around and then thought we passed the street we needed, so I tried to call Suzi. Again, no answer. So I called Gregor, and he once again talked down to me as if I was an idiot and should've known where I was going (which also wasn't appreciated, but I'll also let it slide) but did get me back on track. Until I forgot the directions he gave me or got them confused or maybe he wasn't clear, I don't know, so I called him again and he directed me to the place and I did find it.

Jael and I walk in and we can't find anyone, so we end up deciding to just wander the restaurant and then we found them. We had a good time hanging out with the crazies, as they've come to be known (I must say, I coined the term). After a while we were done and I think Gregor was about to like... fall asleep on the table... or something, so we left. Found our way back to the hotel and stayed up for a while, twittering and being our general weird selves, before crashing.

Got up semi-early in the morning and went down to the 2nd floor for the free breakfast (mmmmm). Then we kinda sat around doing nothing, and then I got my shower and all that jazz and we called the valet parking people so the car was waiting for us when we went downstairs around 12:45. We took off for Suzi's, and along the way I stopped at a gas station and bought some soda pop (bop she bop) as my contribution to the pitch-in dinner thang. We then proceeded to get lost due to MapQuest's bogus directions, so I called Suzi and she got me back on track and we got there while she was out at the store. So we killed time sitting in the car, listening to Air Supply. After a while, Shawn pulled in behind us so we kinda talked to him for a sec and then Suzi got home, so we all went inside.

Jael and I were once again "fighting" and then for a few minutes we were quiet, and Shawn made the comment that that's the first time he's been around us that we weren't fighting. I thought that was pretty amusing. But we do like to pretend fight.

And NO, my love language is NOT actually violence. Think what you want, though.

After a little while, Sheryl and Gregor showed up and so we watched Bridge to Terabithia. Amaaaaazing movie. And I cried again, but less than usual for three reasons: 1) This was my third time seeing it, 2) I was with people that I didn't want to see me bawling my eyes out full-force, so I toned it down, 3) Shawn made a comment that cracked us all up during the most emotional part of the movie, so we were laughing instead of crying.

Après le film, we sat around and watched random movies that were on (Peewee's Big Adventure, Batman, etc.) and they prepared the food and grilled and all that jazz. Then we ate. And it was grand. Après le dîner, we continued to watch movies (Batman, You, Me, and Dupree) and also Gregor started watching Foamy videos on his laptop and so Suzi and I gathered around to watch those. After a while, Gregor and Sheryl took off for a birthday shindig or some such thing and the rest of us hung out for the rest of You, Me, and Dupree (great movie). Then Suzi was playing with twitter, and then we took off for the art show thing that they invited us to. It was decent, but I wasn't super thrilled with it. Plus it didn't take long to get through it all, so Suzi, Jael, and I sat in the room with the food and ate cheese for a while. After we finally decided to leave, we went to Starbucks and played Euchre until midnight when they "kicked us out." We put the furniture back how we found it (the guy closing was very appreciative) and then we parted ways. Jael and I returned to the hotel, Jael went to bed shortly thereafter, and I stayed up til like 2 or 3. Or 4. I don't really remember. I just wasn't really tired.

Sunday, I overslept and so I didn't have time for a shower, so we packed up our stuff and checked out at 11, then drove to Mass Ave and did some "shopping" at Luna and Silver in the City before settling in with her laptop at Starbucks for a while. Then we left, drove to Fishers, where I got Subway and Jael got picked up by her brother, and then I went on to Anderson.

Went to Cara's, where we got to hang out and talk for a few hours, which was great. It was super awesome to get to see her for a while. We talked about my weekend, some issues in our lives, and then she had me listen to some music and watch some of The Mighty Boosh season 2 on DVD. Then Mack called and asked if I was gonna hang out with her some, since she was in town for that day (I had seen her away message the night before and left her a message to see if we could hang out while she was in town), so I parted ways with Cara and met Mack by the Wellness Center and we stood there talking for a few and then wandered around campus taking pictures. After that, we parted ways (possibly for the last time (::tear::)) and I drove back home. Got back around 8:30 and realized I hadn't had dinner, so I made some spaghettio's.

The end. Next trip... probably around the 4th of July. Until then... trying to find a job and hopefully spending some time at my grandma's pool, tanning it up. I also need to arrange some hangout time with Busso and Anne again.

And I need to get out of this emotional rut that I seem to get in every time I'm back here. It's ridiculous and annoying, and I read into everything, whether it really matters or not, and I just make myself miserable over stuff that isn't even really a big deal, and in some cases never even happened, I just thought it did.

My imagination sure knows how to run when I'm doing nothing all day long, that's for sure.

Stupid, stupid, stupid... ::bangs head on wall::

Maybe I'll follow Suzi's advice and move to California and date around with a bunch of surfers with shaggy blond hair.

Hmmmmmm... I must say, the idea is tempting. But my luck would be that I'd get there and none of the pretty blond-haired surfers would give me the time of day. That would suck. I think I'll just leave that one in my daydreams.
