Keep that sweet heart of yours beating.

As I edited to mention earlier, Gregor woke up yesterday. He was talking with people, and joking around, recognizing people, asking questions, etc.

He seems to be having short-term memory loss today, but I decided to look it up and it seems that that's pretty typical for this kind of situation.

I THOUGHT they were supposed to take the thing out of his heart today, but apparantly it got pushed back to tomorrow. Meaning I probably won't get to talk to him when I go to visit. Which... well, sucks. But at least I'll get to go and see what's going on, and give someone the stuff I have to give him, and all of that. I think seeing people will help more than anything anyway. I probably wouldn't know what to say if I did get to talk to him, although I keep coming up with things I want to tell him. haha but I do that when he's NOT in the hospital, so I'll just have to stick them away and tell him later.

I remembered the other day that Copeland's first album has a lot of songs about hospitals and this type of situation on it, because I remember Adam telling me that the lead singer had some close friends in the hospital when he wrote it. I forgot to listen to it at the time, but I am now, and it's really nice. Soothing, beautiful, and related to the situation. Perfect. Here are some lyrics from it:

"Take Care"

...
I'll take care of you
Have faith that when you call my name
I'll be there
I'll be right there
So keep breathing, oh
Keep that sweet heart of yours beating
I'll be right there
I'll be right there

Let me draw the blinds for you
You can watch the sunset from
The bed in your hospital room
Until you're sleeping
I'm sure
I don't understand how I found a love so pure...

Don't lift a finger
Let me show you
The only way to let this go
Don't lift a finger
Let me hold you
Hold you here until the pain it has all gone

"Testing the Strong Ones"

There's an angel by your hospital bed
Desperate to hear his name on your breath
As he looks down, you're not making a sound
Open your eyes, look at me
I'll bring to you whatever you need
And I'll tell you I'm sorry
That I can't take this pain away from you
And I'd put it on my own body if I knew how to
Can't you see?

I've gotta bust you out of here somehow
I've never seen your heart this tired
I've never seen your spirit held down
I know that you say
This is what you get
For being a bad child
But I know this will be your reward
In just a little while
In just a little while

It's testing the strong ones
Scarring the beautiful ones...
