Today was pretty good. Pretty GOOD.
Got woken up at 11:30 by MacKenzie, because she (for the first time in a long time) wanted me to have lunch at the haven w/ her. So I did that... which was nice, except she took FOREVER to actually show up, so I had to sit in the doorway to the student center and wait. Oh well.
Then I came back here to shower/beautify, and then at 4:30 I had to go pick up Susan and then go to South to meet up at Cara's, cause me, Cara, Susan, Sara(h?), Jessie, and Cara's parents were going to go out to eat. So her mom gave me directions and we took off, Cara/her 'rents in their car, everyone else in mine. We went to Buca di Beppo's (sp?) in Castleton. It was pretty much amazing, atmosphere-wise, and the food was alright (albeit less amazing than I had hoped (I had gotten a lot of hype about it, though, so that prolly just got my hopes up)).
P.S. Cara's parents are sooooo cute. I like them. Her dad was really fun, cause he's really quiet but he says random funny things. AND he recognized me. From what, you ask? Oh, a little thing I call The Epic Ice Cream video that I put on youtube. "But Allison, you aren't actually IN that video!" you might say, to which I would reply, "Yes, my child, but my LAUGHTER permeates the entire clip."
Thus, he recognized me by my laugh.
But apparantly I have a distinctive laugh, so I'm not too worried about it.
After her 'rents left, we kinda hung around Cara's apartment, eating birthday cake and talking. Susan and I kept quoting movies, and Cara would get annoyed and try to change the subject to "something real" hahaha
Then I drove Susan to the art building and myself back to Martin and then she picked me up and we went to Contemporary Encore.
It was good, but TOO LONG. I got really tired. And most of the songs were really slow, so it kinda put me to sleep. It was really good, though, for the most part. Highlights for me:
Gavin DeGraw, Chariot
Christina Aguilera, Hurt (don't really care for the person who sang, but she has an amazing voice so I'll let that one go)
John Mayer, Why Georgia
Snow Patrol, Chasing Cars
Anna Nalick, Breathe (2 am)
the "ooh ooh" song (Jael, help me out? haha)
everything Matty U did (cause he's Matty U and therefore it was amazing)
Other stuff was good, but I'm blanking, cause I'm tired. But it was good. And apparantly there's gonna be another Encore in April... so hopefully I can make it to that one. I can't imagine what the theme would be... Chart Toppers? '70s? hmm... intrigue.
K I'm too tired to keep writing, but today was good. I especially enjoyed my trip to Castleton. Yay friends.
AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CARA!!!!
