I guess I forgot to write about last weekend, so... here goes. If I can remember.
On Friday afternoon, Susan asked me to go shopping with her in Castleton. I think that's where I left off. So I went to her apartment and it turned out Trav wanted to come but had class until 2, so we waited for him and then went on our way. We did some shopping, but didn't really find anything good. Then we passed a Halloween store and argued about whether or not to go to the costume ball. Then we decided to go as the plastics from Mean Girls. I got cat ears (to be Gretchen), Susan got a wig and bling to put a K on her chest (Karen), and Trav bought a wig, skirt, shirt, and ribbon (Regina). We went back to Susan's and had spaghetti that the lovely Miranda made for us (yay!) and Trav shaved his legs (hahaha) and we got all ready and then went ot the ball. We acted like them, but overall we looked kinda stupid. And the costume ball was really lame. But what else do you expect from AU? The only good thing we ever have done, disco dancing and donuts, is cancelled this year. Because the people planning stuff don't have half a brain.
Sorry I'm bitter.
So... we went, then we went to Perkins w/ Liz in tow (I forgot to mention she rode w/ us... she was Puss in Boots) and it was funny to be w/ Trav in drag in a public place. Then we went back to Susan's apartment to watch Mean Girls, but I got tired toward the end so we left. The next day I had to get up early, AND I overslept (which was horrible) so I ran around and went over to the farts parking lot (farts for those uninformed non-AU students is the Fine Arts building) where I met up w/ the other music business kids and we drove to Indy for our conference. The first speakers were good, and I'm obsessed with a company called Live 360 now. After that we went to lunch at this awesome restaurant in Broad Ripple and then the other speakers were pretty boring/lame. But the first one was good, and hanging out w/ some other music business kids who I never really hang out with was a pretty good experience. I left before the concert, which was probably dumb of me but nobody was doing anything and I didn't feel like either standing around or doing something alone for 3 hours.
So I came back and had dinner w/ Cara.
Then I read a bunch of Wild Swans and did homework on Sunday, and yesterday I had classes and did a bunch more homework, and today I just finished my Wild Swans paper, which is pretty exciting, and now I'm off to class to turn it in. After class I have to work on another paper for business law and read like 30 pages of the Joy Luck Club for my lit. class... then dinner... then HALLOWEEN FUN BEGINS.
I'm pretty excited. I'm gonna dress up like Pam in the Halloween episode of the office, thanks to my new black cat ears.
Good times, good times.
