Today started off on the WRONG foot (I would say that I got out of the wrong side of the bed, but there is only one side to get out of...), but then it picked up. I woke up around 7:45, which basically means my usual 1 1/2 hours of getting ready was cut down to 15 minutes, much of that including the walk over to Hardacre. So I was basically... screwed. I jump out of bed and do my best to make myself presentable (to no real avail, although my new dark hair helped A LOT) and practically ran to class. Normally the prof shuts the door at 8 and then doesn't let you come in until 8:15 if you're late. So I got there, out of breath, and sat down and he didn't come in, but instead talked to someone in the hallway. So basically I killed myself for nothing.
But this is where the day picked up.
"Gosh, I guess I ran for no reason..."
"Yeah, somebody should shut the door because he's not in here on time." - Eric
"Hmm... I bet if certain people did it he would laugh... like Cory!"
So Eric turned around, barely got half of the idea out when Cory was basically like "DONE" (I love that about him... haha he didn't even need to hear any more, he was up for doing it) and shut the door. Then the prof came in and laughed, saying, "I saw that, Cory." It was amusing. Well done, Cory, for going through with it, and for Eric and I for initiating. Yeah, good times in Business Law.
Class went alright, except apparantly Eric has pink eye or something similar so if I get it I'll be PEEVED. Then I had HR Management, which was... alright. Then Special Topics in Lit., which was fine as usual. Then lunch by myself, but it was good so that was alright. Then the library... then got my mail... then Women's Chorus at Park Place, where we sang pretty well and she cancelled our rehearsal for tonight (w00t!). After that, I went to the library and studied/prepared for my business law midterm, and then I went over to Hardacre to take it. It took me the whole time, and some things I was unsure of, but I think in general it felt pretty good.
Then... all the weight lifted from my shoulders because... I'M GOING ON VACATION TOMORROW. No more classes. I think I'll get up and go to chapel and lunch so I'll be ready when the fam comes to pick me up, but other than that I have no other classes until Monday.
So I came back and then Trav wanted to come bring me my calculator he had borrowed, so he did and we talked for a bit out on the lawn and then I came back up and chilled until dinner, which was great. I sat and had some lovely conversation with Cara until 6:30-ish when... something came up. And then she ditched me, which was unacceptable!! But I had places to go anyway.
I went to the farts building and found Evan and Steve, because we were doing our focus group for Music Marketing class tonight. One person showed up, but it was fun anyway. They had food and ORANGE FANTA... and I basically took notes on Evan's laptop and listened to music and listened to a girl critique it. Then, after she left, we started picking stuff up and chatting and now I know that I'm not the only person in the music business department that doesn't like many of the other music business people.
But the specifics of that conversation are for us only and not the general public, so I'll stop right there.
Just know that I felt like I fit in with someone for once, which is always good when you're an oddball like me.
Then I came back and watched the rest of America's Next Top Model, which was... pretty decent TV. Now I'm just chillin. I need to pack. I've gotta take my book along for women in the world so I can get some reading done on the way to TENNESSEE.
This weekend will be great... during the moments when I can avoid reading "Wild Swans." It wouldn't be so bad if it was for fun, but it's homework so... bleh.
But vacay will be fun. Shopping, good times w/ my extended fam... yeah. I'm excited.
And... I think this entry is now done. Au revoir.
