Up ahead in the distance I saw a shimmering light...

As I sip my glass of apple juice, I will tell you about the past two days in the life of Allison.

Saturday... lounged around the house for a bit before finally getting ready around 4-ish. Then my mom and my brother and I went to the campground for dinner w/ the extended fam. Had cheeseburgers and fried potatoes, which I made decent by pouring like a pound of shredded cheese on them. It was really hot, and since I'm sort of (more than sort of, actually) an indoor girl, I spent most of my time in my grandparents' camper watching TV and enjoying the A/C. After we got back, I think I may have napped for a bit, I don't remember. But I do know that Mom and I watched Jersey Girl, which was really really good. Much better than I had thought it would be. There was a lot of stuff that was unnecessary... the types of things that make me angry with the movie industry in general. But if you ignore those things, it's a great movie w/ a positive message.

Today, we had church where I ran the powerpoint again... and everything went off without a hitch as far as that was concerned. Then we got Subway and watched a bunch of episodes on my new That '70s Show season 4 DVD set... that I love. After some of that, I napped for a few hours and then we had dinner and watched... more That '70s Show. Then we finished a disc and decided to watch TV for a while, so I turned it on and what was on but my new favorite thing: World Series of Pop Culture on VH1. I love it, because I know about 50% of the stuff that the people on the show know. Which means about half the time I can answer a question and a little bit more of the time I can get something else about the question that doesn't really answer it but is close. Such as Jordie from Star Trek is the host of Reading Rainbow, but I didn't know his real name. Stuff like that. Sooo much fun.

On a commercial (because I edit TV according to what I want to see, and some commercials offend me so I'm prone to flipping channels during crap commercials/music videos), I flipped to VH1 Classic and there was a Pink Floyd concert on. So I went to make popcorn while commercials were on for the show I was watching and left Pink Floyd on. Then I came back and turned the channel back and Dad was like, "Hey, I was watching that!" and I'm like, "You like Pink Floyd?" Well... apparantly my dad loves Pink Floyd. I am 21 years old and have lived in the same house with my dad for that entire time and I never knew he liked any music other than early Beatles, Elvis, and country. I NEVER would've guessed that he likes Pink Floyd. It was crazy. He even went into this little nostalgic thing where he's like, "Imagine me sitting in my '63 firebird (or some similar car, I forget the exact car he had) with the 8 track player playing full on and the windows down listening to Pink Floyd, w/ a can of beer in my hand." It was great. So kids... guess where I got my love for cruising w/ the windows down and the music blasting from. Apparantly my dad. Who would've known?

I hope when I grow up my crazy fun antics don't fade into the past like apparantly they have for my parents. I wanna still be the way I am now when I grow up, but wiser. I want to enjoy cruising along with the windows down and the music blasting when I'm 60. If I'm not, come smack me over the head and throw me in the car w/ an iPod (or whatever we're using when I'm 60).

Anyway... after that show was over, nothing good was on so we watched a couple more episodes of That '70s Show but I didn't want to watch them ALL cause we just got it a few days ago. So then I came here, and that's the end.

I love you all... and do me a favor. Listen to Pink Floyd. And find a way to get to know your parents' past selves. It's interesting and can help you to shed light on your own behavior. Plus... it's fun to bond.

G'night.
