Student Teaching and such
I am SOOOOOO excited and no one is around and share it!!! hahaha I just got my official student teaching placement for next semester. Now the only thing standing between me and student teaching is passing my last MTEL! I get those results in about a week. I will have my fingers crossed until then!! My placement is in a second grade in Easthampton. The school sounds great, I have talked to the Principal a lot, and he seems wonderful, and he described the teacher as energetic and outstanding. EEEEEEEEEKKKK!!! It sounds too good to be true. He even wrote me an email about possible jobs there next year. OMG it is all going SO fast. That would make me a western mass girl after college (I'm okay with it!). But I am getting way ahead of myself! I didnt realize how nervous I was about getting a placement until I noticed how relieved I was to finally have it settled.
I am totally exhausted. I waitressed at Boondocks for 13 hours (7:30-8:30), then headed to the grocery store. Now I am finishing up all of the cooking, and plating, and details of the catering job I am doing tomorrow. I am working another 13 hours shift tomorrow, and I have to drop all of the food off before I go to work. Sometimes I might take on a little too much, but it will be worth it in the end. I am really happy with the stuff I made for this job, and hopefully it will get my name out there and get me more catering jobs over the summer. I cooked for 2D2 all year, and then havent done much cooking since I have been home. As sad as it is, I really missed it, so even though it meant playing in the 100+ degree kitchen all week when I wasnt at Boondocks I had a good time.
I am in a really good mood for the first time in a LONG time. I am just kinda relaxed and excited and almost content, if that makes any sense. I know the adrenaline and excitement will wear off, and I will be left with all of the stress and pressures of living at home, probably within a few hours, but I plan on enjoying it while it lasts.
Okay, back to work for me, hopefully getting some sleep at some point tonight!!
