I haven't made a real journal entry in a long time. So, for the curious and those who are absent in my life, here's what's been going on.
My band finished recording at Barefoot in June. We go back August 22nd to the 25th to mix it. If all goes well, we'll have it ready to distribute by the 27th.
I'm almost finished recording my solo project CD entitled, "The Burden of Being Human," which is based on the philosophy that having a conscience and morals is what keeps us humans from being truly happy. It's a really depressing album, but I like it a lot. It has 10 tracks. I finished Under the Ground yesterday, and want to re-record "Broken" and remix "there's no place..."
1. Waking Up
2. Rainy Days
3. Broken
4. Annemarie
5. Who We Are (Bad Religion cover)
6. There's No Place Like No Place at All
7. Going Home
8. No One Knows I'm Gone (Tom Waits cover)
9. At the Staton
10. Under the ground
I've been going out more and spending less time inside. Been hanging out mostly with Erik, John, Nicole, Bolger, Ahmad, Izabela, and Diane. I've been a lot happier since I started hanging out with them more, but I'm still depressed. I don't know why.
Duane Reade closed down about three weeks ago. I worked at the duane reade in pavonia for a week, then I got my vacation. While on my vacation, I found another job here in Bayonne. It's closer, and I get the same pay. I won't be working as much though, and it's not really as good as DR. I save time and money working there though. Gotta do things you don't want sometimes. I still haven't quit DR. I feel bad. I haven't worked in 9 days and tomorrow will be 10. I called out last Saturday, had vacation sunday to saturday, called out yesterday, and i have today and tomorrow off. lol. I'm supposed to work wednesday, which incidentally, is when I'm supposed to start working at the new place.
My birthday was pretty good. Diane took me to see the Simpsons (which was really good btw) and baked me a cake. She, Mary, and I hung out that night. It was cool. Another night Izabela took me to Fernandes II Steakhouse in Newark. It was soooo good. I got this thing called Rodizio. It's a bunch of meat prepared in different ways and they keep bringing it out until you say you can't have anymore. It was so good. On Saturday I had a bunch of people over. There was Melissa, Melody, Susy, Laura, Joe Cassidy, Ahmad, Chris Stiles, John, Chris Bolger, Erik, Jonny, and Nick. The Alferezes got me That Thing You Do! special edition dvd. I love that movie. We wached some of that, then we watched 300 (which was pretty good, a little overrated though), then we watched Hot Fuzz which was really good but really long. After everyone left I hung out with Erik and Ahmad, then ahmad went home and Erik and I met nicole and bolger at the park. Got home around 2:30.
Last night I went to Diane's and watched this movie called Waking Life, which was really good. It was very interested, especially cause they were talking about stuff I had read about in my philosophy class and human & intercultural relations class last semester. Lots of philosophical stuff. I enjoyed it. It's funny because it seemed really long, but I looked online and it was only an hour and a half. Before that I hung out with John and Chris a little.
Yesterday was pretty good. Finished recording that song, hung out with john and diane. Satisfying.
Time to go to the bank and put some of my money in there. Almost up to $5,000! :)
I'm gonna be buying an acoustic/electric guitar and a laptop. So it'll go back down to $4000 pretty quickly.
