a handful of dust

I went through most of today thinking it was mother's day. I had taken my mom out to dinner, paid $60 for our meal and made her tea before she gently informed me that mother's day was not until Sunday. I am a complete airhead sometimes.

Anyway, I have a video & two music downloads:
If It Hadn't Been For Love by The Steeldrivers. Bluegrass, not country. Fucked-up subject matter aside, what really makes this for me is the banjo and the absolutely gorgeous fiddle-work. I'd give it a listen, even if this type of music isn't your cup of tea [lyrics].

Don't Wait For Tom by Over the Rhine. Regardless of how I try, I can't think of a good way to define a genre for this song. The lyrics are fun and music relies heavily on odd percussion, clarinet and what sounds either like a saxophone or a bass clarinet. Worth listening to, like the one above. If you don't like it feel free to delete it [lyrics].

Anyway, me: done with first year of college, currently unemployed will shoot self if I have to work at the zoo again, am seriously considering this "vegetarian" deal, generally really bored.

I'll leave you with a thought: Gaston from Beauty and the Beast romancing Carlotta from Phantom of the Opera. Best pairing ever y/y?

+music, so clever it hurts, lookit: i posted a video, no i am not on meth thanks, life: listen to my day, +pimpinosity
