They saw her mouth move but didn't hear what she said

So, I've discussed this perhaps enough I can be succinct in this, but my personal feelings towards the concept of "feminism" and the idea of "feminist criticism":

I dislike it, because I want to be able to compete on the same level as men. I don't like feeling like I have to redefine things into "feminist" terms in order to have a level playing ground. It feels cheap to me, and too much like a handicap. I really don't like how divisive the idea of gender has become.

Anyway, you don't care about that.

Half of the first line from Robert Browning's "Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came."

My first thought was, he lied in every word,
That hoary cripple, with malicious eye
Askance to watch the working of his lie
On mine, and mouth scarce able to afford
Suppression of the glee that pursed and scored
Its edge, at one more victim gained thereby.

I'm really displeased with this idea. I may try something else later, perhaps more to the feel I was going for. As is, here is an exceedingly creepy old man.

Technically "Ryxen" crap, but it's from my sketchbook so it goes here. Trishelle the prostitute. Love interested of a minor character.

Text reads "And if you feel a little left behind" which is from Banquet by Bloc Party. I happened to like that particular line and I wanted to draw something uplifting, considering.

This was the assignment. We were supposed to reproduce this picture. This -- this was hell. Admire it. Tell me I rock even though it's totally slap-dash and half-assed.

The "proper text" is "and I can play piano but I never learned to read" and is from the song Perfect Fit by the Dresden Dolls. I had great fun mixing the watercolors & acrylics and I'm so ignorant of proper "artistic" actions but this made me happy.

Anyway, I'm finally not-so-sick. =)
