The new journal for writing (fiction) is alliteral. What's currently up is the first chapter of my NaNoWriMo project (a whopping 1,000 words) which is technically set in England during the industrial revolution except for it's an alternate universe (?) and everyone talks like a bunch of Americans and would probably fit into the 1920s better than the 1870s because I am utterly lazy when it comes to setting but so was Shakespeare! I'll probably revise it all later, like over break when I have time to research. Besides, that's not what matters. What matters is plot and character! Especially character!

... honestly, give me good characters and everything else can go hang. Shakespeare had the same principle, guys!

That's my new excuse for every writing faux pas I make.

Anyway, friend it, read it if you want, critique. The first bit is sucky. The rest will probably be equally sucky. The good writing comes with revision (December!). This is the bare-bones.

I'll maybe write a proper summary and post it on the journal? Someday? It's very slice-of-life-y. Except the main character is technically a "villain" even though there's no "hero"? Ugh. I can't do meta about my own writing.

Anyway, today is the four hour version of Hamlet. I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand I'm excited. On the other I badly want to take a nap. But! Excitement will persevere! Because it's Kenneth Branagh and not Laurence Olivier or Mel Gibson. Yes, Virginia, it could be worse.

And. I got another B+/A- on my lit exam. Which isn't bad for not sleeping the night before and throwing together only the shittiest essay ever in an hour: "Shelley and Coleridge both ... wrote about ... wind and ... harps? And this was because ... it deal with ... inspiration? Maybe if I throw in a reference to opium it'll make this better? No? Ah well."

Also, 102% in psych? That class exists solely to enlarge my ego. I swear.

life: classes, life: listen to my day, life: college
