Ron: *heads on over to Luna's house in a pair of swim shorts and a shirt with a gift bag in one hand* *is a bit nervous because he was pretty sure Luna had been flirting with him on the intarweb, but he wasn't entirely sure* *knocks on the door when he gets there*
Luna: *is up in her room looking for her swimsuit* *hears the knock and yells over her shoulder* Come in! I'll just be a moment!! *rifles through her trunk again*
Ron: *timidly opens the door and steps inside, looking around curiously* Luna?
Luna: Be down in a moment! *gives up and pulls on the bathing suit Ron's mother loaned her last time because she doesn't want to make him wait too long* *starts for the stairs when she remembers something and turns back to her desk to grab a paintbrush and a pot of sparkly ink*
Ron: *shifts the gift bag back and forth in his hands, causing it to make a rattling sound - the fake kitsune tail being only one of the gifts he bought her in Japan*
Luna: *bounces down the stairs and smiles* Hello, Ronald! *looks around* ...Would you like to sit down? *moves a pile of Quibblers off of a chair and pulls it out for him*
Ron: Hello. *smiles with the faintest hint of a blush* Sure. *holds out the bag as he sits down* This is for you.
Luna: Oh! *sticks the brush behind her ear, right next to her wand, and sets the pot of ink down on the table* Thank you, Ronald. *closes her eyes before reaching her hand into the bag*
Ron: *watches nervously as she reaches into the bag, hoping he did a good job with picking out other things she'd like* You're welcome. *notices the pot of ink she set down, but doesn't question her purpose in having it*
Luna: *the tip of her tongue peeks out between her lips as she concentrates on what her fingers are brushing over* Hmm. *lets her fingers pass over the soft fur that she assumes is the kitsune tail, and closes them around a small box, pulling it out* *peeks out of one eye* Oh! This is lovely, Ronald. Um...what is it?
Ron: *his eyes are drawn to her lips as her tongue peeks out* Um... *looks from her mouth to her hand* Oh, that? It's... I'm not sure exactly. I think it's some sort of bracelet?
Luna: *smiles* Oh! Can you help me put it on? *holds out her wrist*
Ron: *pulls the 'bracelet' out of the box, but has difficulty figuring out how to put it on because it's really a cell phone charm* Erm... maybe it goes in your hair?
Luna: Oh! All right then. I'll put it on after we swim, then. *remembers the kitsune tail is still in the bag*
Ron: *blushes* Okay. You don't have to go through everything in there right now. It's just mostly little trinkets for you to set out for decoration.
Luna: I want to see the kitsune tail, at least. *pulls it out* Oh! It's absolutely lovely, Ronald! *rubs the soft fur against her cheek* And I won't tell anyone you brought it here without a license. I promise.
Ron: It doesn't matter. It's not real... I think. *really hopes it's not real cause he doesn't want to get in trouble for it*
Luna: *winks in a conspiratory fashion* Oh, of course it's not real, Ronald. *places it carefully on the mantle for now*
Ron: *winks... back?* Erm. So... swimming?
Luna: Yes. *grabs the pot of ink again and takes Ron's hand, tugging him along behind her as she heads for the front door*
Ron: *goes wide eyed when Luna grabs his hand* *is tugged along the whole way to the river because he's so shocked that he's holding hands with Luna*
Luna: *looks up at the sky* It's rather overcast today, isn't it?
Ron: *looks up* Yeah. I hope it doesn't rain. *realises after a moment that this means he has no excuse to wear the t-shirt into the water*
Luna: Hm. *taps her a finger against her lips thoughtfully* *pulls her wand and the paintbrush out from behind her ear and sets them down on the grass, next to the ink, as she gazes into the water* I don't see any rusalkas. *goes up to the riverbank and dips a toe in*
Ron: *while she's facing the water he takes off his t-shirt and sets it down next to her things, then quickly gets into the water, submerging himself so only his head pokes out* The water feels nice.
Luna: *is splashed, a little* *laughs and jumps in after Ron* Oh! *shivers a little and ducks her head* *emerges, with a few rushes stuck in her hair* That's better. It feels more even when you're wet all over, you know.
Ron: I s'pose. *reaches over and picks the rushes out of Luna's hair*
Luna: *tilts her head a bit* What's that? *reaches up to pat her hair*
Ron: *his fingers brush against hers and he quickly pulls back holding the rushes in his hands* Just these. They're all gone now.
Luna: Oh. I thought for a moment I was sprouting something. *leans a little closer to Ron, squinting at his face* Are you warm, Ronald? Your cheeks are quite red.
Ron: *drops the rushes into the water* No, I'm not warm. *makes something up* I think I just spent too much time outside yesterday...
Luna: Oh. All right then. *flops backwards to float on her back and kicks around a little*
Ron: *lets out a quiet sigh* *starts swimming around, thinking about how he's going to admit his feelings to Luna - if only Sirius had answered the letters, then he might have had some advice to work with*
Luna: *oblivious to Ron's Inner Turmoil* The water is quite nice. *sees something* Oh, oh! What's that? *points*
Ron: *swims over to see what it is* *by the time he's there whatever it was has swam off* I dunno...
Luna: Oooh. Do you suppose it was a sea serpent? Or...a river serpent, I suppose. Unless it lost its way. Do you suppose a sea serpent can survive in fresh water? *looks a little concerned*
Ron: I don't think a sea serpent can survive in fresh water. *starts looking around to make sure that whatever it was isn't still lurking*
Luna: *looks a little crestfallen* Oh. I hope it's all right.
Ron: *reassuringly* I think it will be.
Luna: Oh, I hope so. *watches the spot where whatever-it-was disappeared* *sighs*
Ron: *realises he's swimming real close to Luna again* Erm... *trails off unable to say anything more*
Luna: *treads water silently for a while* *looks up at Ron's aborted sentence* Yes, Ronald?
Ron: Erm... nothing. *blushes and starts to swim away*
Luna: *catches Ron's wrist to stop him swimming away* Your face is red again. *pats her other hand, which is cool from the river, against his cheeks soothingly*
Ron: *face goes even more red as Luna pats his cheek* I'm fine. *voice is squeaking a little bit, damn puberty* Luna... *looks her in the eyes and then as quickly as he can squeaks out* IlikeyoualotalotandIwanttoknowifyoulikemelikethat, too, andifyouwanttogoonadatesometime? *eyes go wide as he waits half a second for an answer before getting out of the river and burying his face in his tshirt to hide how embarrassed he is*
Luna: *blinks* *takes a moment to decipher Ron's rushed words and he's already gone by the time they sink in* Oh. Oh! *looks to the bank where Ron is hiding in his shirt* *paddles over* I should like that very much, Ronald. To go on a date, I mean. *watches him*
Ron: *glances up from his shirt* Really?
Luna: *nods solemnly, eyes wide*
Ron: Really? *can't believe it* *also can't believe what a wuss he's being running off and hiding in his shirt. Sirius would not approve*
Luna: *isn't quite sure if she should get out of the water now too, or not* Yes. I rather fancy you, you know. *treads water and watches him*
Ron: No... I didn't know. *rolls over so he can actually face Luna without straining his neck* *is still fairly wet from the river, water dripping from his hair, onto his shoulders and down his chest*
Luna: Oh. *bites her lip and comes out of the water, heading right for where Ron is sitting*
Ron: *shifts slightly as Luna starts approaching him* Erm... *seriously doesn't know what to do next, he's never had a girlfriend before* So... when do you want to go on a date?
Luna: Hmm? *walks right up to Ron and stops just at his side* Oh. I'm not sure. After the wedding, I suppose.
Ron: The wedding? *pauses then remembers* Oh, right. My sister's wedding with that Lamp guy.
Luna: Yes. *bends over, her hair dripping on him a little*
Ron: *nods then realises she can't see him nod when she's bent over* All right. What should we do? *tries not to stare too much at her chest as she is bent over*
Luna: *grabs up her wand and straightens* *mutters a quick charm under her breath to dry them both off* Hmm. *sticks her wand back behind her ear and brings a finger to her lips as she thinks* Oh! *bends over again and grabs her other stuff* I brought ink.
Ron: *his eyes follow her fingers to her mouth then back down to her chest as she bends over again* Ink for what?
Luna: *smiles* For drawings constellations!
Ron: It'll wash off easily, right? *doesn't want to have to explain to his mum why he's got drawings all over his arms*
Luna: Oh. *squints at the ink pot* It should, I think.
Ron: *bites the corner of his lip* Okay... *holds out his arm for her to draw on*
Luna: *sits next to him* *unstoppers the ink pot and dips in her paintbrush* *contemplates her canvas* It's very sparkly ink, you know. It seemed most appropriate for constellations. *brow furrows slightly in concentration* *touches the tip of her paintbrush to a large freckle on Ron's upper arm*
Ron: *really hopes this is going to wash off because there's no way he can explain this to ANYONE* *thinks the brush tickles but tries his best to stay still*
Luna: *draws a line from that freckle to another, and another, connecting them in a vague shape* *pauses, looking* I think that's done. *looks at Ron* Can you see it, Ronald?
Ron: *looks down at his arm* Yeah, I can see it. *of course he can see it, it SPARKLES* It's Cassiopeia, right?
Luna: *smiles* May I do another? There are a lot of freckles.
Ron: Erm... sure. *can't resist her smile*
Luna: *leans forward and takes his arm in her free hand, holding it steady while she traces Ursa Major on his forearm* *the tip of her tongue peeks out between her lips as she concentrates*
Ron: You see any other constellations? *licks his lips and watches her*
Luna: *tilts her head* Well... *dips her paintbrush in the ink again and touches it to his chest, beginning to connect freckles in an unfamiliar constellation* *nods, murmuring to herself as she traces lines* Yes, there--oh! And there, too...
Ron: *closes his eyes and bites his lip as the brush tickles across his chest* Erm... which one is that?
Luna: *continues working as she answers* It doesn't have a name, really.
Ron: Oh?
Luna: *squints at his chest and draws one final line* Well. Maybe..."Ronald"? It's new, you know. I just discovered it. *smiles, looking a little shy for the first time, and ducks her head a bit*
Ron: *blushes* Oh. That's an amazing discovery...
Luna: *sits back, finally putting the cap back on her pot of sparkly ink* *beams* I think it looks quite lovely.
Ron: *glances down at the sparkly lines on his chest* Does it? *lays back onto his t-shirt, looking up at the sky and at Luna* Where would you like to go on the date? *blushes and his voice squeaks slightly on the word date*
Luna: *thinks* I'm not really sure. I've never been on one, you know.
Ron: Neither have I. *runs a hand though his hair and thinks that maybe he should ask Sirius or one of his brothers for advice - maybe even Ginny* I'll think of something good. It can be a surprise.
Luna: *clasps her hands together* Oh! A surprise would be smashing! *beams*
Ron: Really? *smiles*
Luna: *nods* Oh, yes. Most surprises are quite fun, you know. I don't think you'd plan the bad sort.
Ron: I know surprises are fun... I just wasn't sure you'd want where we go on our date to be a surprise.
Luna: *thinks a moment* I trust your judgment. *nods, as if that is that*
Ron: *nods in return and starts playing with the grass next to him*
Luna: *just watches Ron silently*
Ron: *stretches like a cat in the sun - except there is no sun* You want to get back in the wa- *is cut off as it starts to rain* Erm... go back inside?
Luna: *blinks as a raindrop plips her on the nose* Perhaps we should.
Ron: *gets up and pulls on his t-shirt* I should probably go back home. My mum's probably going to have dinner ready soon.
Luna: Oh. Oh, yes, I suppose I should get home too... *shields her eyes with a hand and looks vaguely at the sky*
Ron: *stands around awkwardly for a moment* Well... bye.
Luna: *smiles, and waves her fingers slightly* Goodbye, Ronald. Thank you for the constellations. And for asking me on a date.
Ron: *smiles* You're welcome. I'll see you at the wedding. *waves and heads off for his house before the rain starts coming down too hard*
Luna: *waves once more as he gets farther off, bigger, using her whole arm* *finally turns back towards her house once he's out of her view* *smiles*
