Crediting is not always so easy

10:38 PM 8/31/09 · I've collected icons for years....though I used to use them for phone entries on my PalmOne Zire 72 so I didn't need to keep in mind who made them. More than that though, I don't just get them from livejournal.

I've also gotten them from insanejournal.com, deadjournal.com, and greatestjournal.com...the latter of which has been an issue for me twice.

The icon I'm using on this post I got from GJ. Person that made it got on my case for a bit, he has an account on multiple journal sites and we happened to have a community or two in common. After it came up I credited him and that solved that but when my original account crashed I lost that info.

So, until the next time it comes up...

This icon is a similar situation:

I can't actually use that icon here because while livejournal has a 40k limit for icon size, greatestjournal's limit is 60k. I'm not even 100% sure who made it, though I think it might've been the moderator of lethalprotector who also has accounts on more than one journaling site.

Good rule of thumb: Unless specified otherwise, always credit the icon from where you found it or by whoever made it. I haven't always told people to credit me for mine but I'd like to think they did regardless.
