[WIP] Curt Conners/Peter Parker, letter exchange leads to relationship (part 3) j_gabrielle July 16 2012, 06:39:19 UTC
The next letter came a few days later, and read;

Doctor,

I have not told her. It is not that I don't want to, but the loss of her father is still very raw to her. Please understand. I will tell her. I promise. Doctor, if I may? Can I ask about my father? What was he like? My aunt doesn't talk about him much and my uncle, the only one who'd truly known him before is gone now. Can you tell me about the man he was?

Peter Parker

Curt tries not to feel the slight sting. It hurts,yes. But it is a hurt well-deserved. He brought this upon himself, made his own bed and now he must lay upon it.

To Peter,

Your father was a good man. A far braver, honourable man than I could ever be. He stood firm in his beliefs and let no one sway his ideals, even when he was threatened. He was my best friend and my only regret is that he never knew how much I was glad to have been able to call him that. I can see him in the man you are to be. You have his spirit, Peter.

Curt Connors

He had not spoken of Richard Parker for years before Peter came into his life. There was no reason to when you worked at Oscorp. Speaking of a defector was practically suicide. In a way, it was a relief. Richard, the research was a big part of his life before the man's leaving. He was hurt, yes. How could you not be when the work you were doing to perfect all human flaws was all but ripped away from you? How could you not be when your chance at being whole was taken away in a blink of an eye?

Curt had raged. Screamed at the injustice of it all. But in the deepest, darkest corners of his heart, Richard Parker will always be a friend. No matter how much he may hate the man for what he'd done, Richard Parker was and will always be Curt's best friend.

He woke three nights later to the sound of the wind. Adjusting his eyes in the dim silvery moonlight, he saw a note hanging from his window by a spider's thread.

Thank you it said. It was not signed, but Curt did not need one to know who sent it.

A/N:So I don't know what prison Curt Connors was sent to, but for the sake of artistic license/ambiguous movie plots/information I'm just gonna put him in one that isn't far outside New York, where letters can reach him fairly quickly.

Is this complete? Just asking because of the title; it still has the WIP on it.
