Open letter to Sherlock fanfic writers
Dear Sherlock fanfic writers:
Sherlock is not Data, nor is he Spock. He is not a mathematic savant. He can't keep track of time to within 1/100 of a second. He uses contractions and doesn't use big show-off words. He doesn't speak like a robot, a thesaurus, or a Victorian. He does have emotions, even though he doesn't let them get in the way of his reasoning. In fact, he is often impassioned, gleeful, angry, frustrated, and a whole mess of other emotions. He may be asexual (or not, according to your own preference); he may think sex is irrelevant, messy and/or uninteresting, but that does not mean he's naive or sheltered or innocent.
Need I go on, or are we getting the drift now?
