2009: Took the Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry
Y'know, when I started considering what I should write as my farewell to 2009, at first I thought my post would consist of one sentence:
"2009: Another year older and deeper in debt."
But then I realized, that's not true.
In 2009 I had Ask!verse. Holy jeez, what an amazing thing to coagulate out of thin air and the collective fandom unconscious.
In 2009 I channeled Persephone again, and as I clawed my way back into the light, I once again learned that I have true, dear friends everywhere. Every so often I have to be reminded of that, because I am a doofus and sometimes listen too closely to the demons in the marrow of my bones.
In 2009, even though I write in geological time, I managed to churn out three decent pieces of fic. One of them didn't even have smut in it! LOL! (No, I'm not linking. This isn't that kind of post.)
In 2009 I met Boy, and my view of my place in the world changed, hopefully forever.
I'm not saying I don't want 2010 to be better; it is indeed true that in the realm of Pentacles 2009 has been annus horribilis for us all. But when it's put in the balance, I'd say I've come up trumps.
