Me = fangeek. Duh.

I watched the pilot episode of Supernatural again on the 'pod while commuting yesterday, and made the kind of *forehead-thwap-DUH* realization that only comes when you're an obsessive fangeek who watches episodes over and over again.

Of course, this is probably something that other people realized long ago, but *shrug*:

Briefly put, the episode is about a Woman in White (a.k.a Weeping Woman, a.k.a. La Llorona). She appears to guys in cars on a particular stretch of highway and asks, "Take me home." When she gets to her old house, she mourns, "I can never go home". Violence and gore ensue, men disappear, etc., etc.

When she tries this with Sam, he says, "I'll take you home". Rams the car into the house, dead kids ensue, Woman in White disappears, etc., etc.

After all that bit is settled and Sammy whines that he has an interview to get back to, Dean tells him, "I'll take you home." Aaaaaaaand we (who watch the show) know what happens then: blood, ceiling, fire, etc. etc.

Sam, like the Woman in White, can never go home.

Oh, btw: despite the definitive results of my loot-spending poll yesterday (and thanks to all who participated), in the end I had to go with the Supernatural DVD set because the Doctor Who box sets are $85 bucks each! What kinda bullshit is that? That's way more expensive than at Amazon, but the gift card was for Barnes & Noble so I didn't have a choice of where to spend it. The Supernatural set was $53, which made it fit my gift card perfectly. Again, Amazon would have been cheaper, but *shrug*.

geekitude, supernatural
