Go go Spider-Rangers!

Aug 04, 2009 14:00

May strung the would-be car jacker up on a light poll, slapping a little webbing on his mouth as he started to swear, and watched him swing back and forth like a pendulum as he struggled. "You know, I think I've met you before," she mused. The face certainly LOOKED familiar, at least. "Don't you guys ever learn?" she sighed, pressing her fingers ( Read more... )

Okay, okay.

So she technically promised May that she wouldn't go gallivanting around town dressed up as the Scarlet Spider.

But come on, after a night of homework and tinkering with web cams and stuff so she could spy on places that May usually was to see who was harassing her, a girl needed to stretch her muscles.

The best way to do that, really, was running across rooftops late at night.

Besides, it's not like she was out looking for trouble.

No, really.

See that innocent look covered up my her full-facial cowl?

Felicity leapt across another rooftop, not noticing another female Spider sitting on a wall, deep in thought.

May, on the other hand, was considerably more aware of her surroundings, and noticed the scarlet clad girl bounding across the rooftops.

Still, it took her a few moments to react as her brain processed just what she was seeing.

No, she thought. She wouldn't.

That thought was quickly drowned out by Oh yes she would. which was shortly followed by Oh yes she IS.

There were nights when it just didn't pay to go web slinging. With an irritated sigh, May launched a new line of webbing and swung from her perch.

Felicity raced across the rooftop, launching herself into a cartwheel, her grin wide beneath her cowl as she came closer to the edge of the rooftop. She swung out with her web-shooter and a cable - based off the design of her mom's own claw-cables - shot out, lodging itself into the next building as Felicity took off, swinging through the air. She was fast, sure, but she was nowhere near as fast as May...who she still hadn't realized was behind her.

May waited, taking her shot once Felicity had safely landed on another roof (she was good at this, but May was in no mood to admit it), then shot webbing right at Felicity's feet, aiming to stick her to the roof.

"Oh. Thank you in advance." Darkdevil rolled his eyes. "My 'mysterious source' - I'll share that, I'm sure he'd love it - didn't have much advice to offer. Mostly because, I, uh. Didn't stick around to get it."

Why yes. He did rush off immediately to warn May. Not that he'd ever admit it.

Felicity looked between Darkdevil and Spider-Girl, quirking up an eyebrow. Okay...

"If a hellportal can get us out of finals, I'm all for it," Felicity quipped. "And great," she added, "Midtown High's now the school from Sky High. That's...you guys realize that this is probably only the beginning, right?"

"Jake Grimm's going to school there now, too," May noted. "I can swing by the Fantastic Five and let him know, leave a message with J2 at the Avengers mansion..."

But how to let JJ know what was up without spilling her secret identity...
